Target wind measure system

I have made a permanent target and a mobile target trap. Looking at a way to roughly measure wind at the target area. We do a bunch of shooting at 40-100 yards down range and mostly out of doors (pun intended) or open windows. Would like to put some king of rough indicator which direction and speed the wind is traveling at targets. Something as simple as a couple of weighted wind ribbons, flags or socks all the way to a portable wireless wind gauge. I have an old gauge of a broke weather station I am considering to try on the permanent target.
Has anyone any experience with something like this??
Thank You
M

Yep but then you have to walk down range to the target to get a reading. This is what I came up with...
