Gamo Shadow 1000 cocking lever roller help
« on: December 19, 2018, 07:37:57 PM »
I managed to loose the tiny cocking lever roller on my gamo s1k last time I took it apart. Does anyone know the dimensions of something close to it that I could fin at my local hardware store. Taking measurements off the gun isn't an option right now since it's at my vacation home over 1.5k miles away. Thank you very much in advance!

Hehe, I know your pain.  I lost mine too.

I'm in the process of making a new one with this material I got on Amazon.  It's cheap too.

UHMW (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) Round Rod, Opaque Off-White, Standard Tolerance, ASTM D4020, 3/8" Diameter, 24" Length

The piece can be no longer than the stud that it goes on.

Once I get my gun working and back together I'll let you know.

If you have a local hobby/rc car shop, ask them for some 2.5x5x8 roller bearings, same ones they use to do the Crosman trigger roller bearing mod. My Webley VMX rifles have a similar pin and I used 4 held together in shrink wrap to replace the plastic one that came in it.

The hardware section of Menards has nylon spacers.  Its in the bolt section.  I have not checked the sizes but I think your chances are good.  Saw them tonight.

If you really get stuck go to your local plastic shop and buy a bit of 10 mm Delrin rod (Acetal) cut at 9mm and drill a hole in the middle. The rollers are not a precision item. Near   enough will work well.

Ended up going with this and it worked great! Cut it to down to 8mm using a dremel (the length of the metal pin on my gun), filed it as flat as I could and drilled a hole using a hand drill for a nice and tight fit to the pin.

Thanks again everyone!

Glad it worked!  I made my hole larger than the pin and I lubed it a bit.  I do believe it's supposed to roll along the area on the stock.
