Yeah the .357s fit just rite.  .356 looks good too.  Think .357 will more accurate.  Will know Sunday =)

What kind of ammo are you trying and what weight are you shooting for?

First I'm trying out the NSA 142 boat tail hollow points.  I have those in both .356 & .357.  I may try their 178gr boat tail as well.  The 215gr .401 the have are really accurate in the Badger .40.  I also grabbed some of his 120 & 130gr HPs in .357.  Looking for a flatter shot versus raw power.

Those 142 gr will prolly give you both.Ive used the Lee 140 gr swc on a couple of deer and they packed a good punch. However the badger will sling them roughly 100 fps faster then my Recluse so I cant wait to see how they do.They are super accurate in my Recluse with a 1-20 twist, the 1-22 should be just as good! The recluse is not picky...every bullet I ever shot was atleast hunting worthy(2 inch or less at 50 yards)And thats about 25 different styles, weight, ect!I know atleast half of the rounds was 1 inch groups or less at 50!.

Excuse the delay, I left my phone(picutures) at mom's house on Christmas lol.  Good news though is the 142's are beast mode!  But they only had a high of 920fps.  Not quite the 950fps I was looking for.  However they grouped well.  That super hammer spring you found may do the trick cause she is only using the 400psi per shot like Dan noted.  I found I could get a good string at a higher pressure fill, but that didn't turn into good groups.  For example I got this string -

142
FPSI - 4000
EPSI - 2800
1. 894 - 3600psi
2. 918 - 3200psi
3. 887 - 2800psi

But this shot one high and then grouped the next 3 shots(This seemed about the same as the .401 barrel.  1 shot high, then 2 grouping at a higher fill).

So I went to the trusty 3800psi fill and got these numbers -

142gr
FPSI - 3800
EPSI - 2300
1. 919
2. 900
3. 868
4. 813

But they grouped like this at 57yds!

Then here are a couple more 52yd groups at a 3800psi fill -

Then I was able to get a 100yd group with the 142s.  As soon as I shot I knew I totally pulled the 2nd shot.  Once seeing the target I was like wow.  That would have been a decent group.

Had that good group with the .356 142s but the .357s were not bad either.  I ordered more of the .357s.

For the 130grs I didn't shoot any groups.  Just fiddled with numbers and blowing up pumpkins and water bottles!!!  But I ordered some more of them as they seemed quite promising.  They shot at 948-929-900 from a 3800psi fill.  And I was able to get great numbers from a 4000psi fill.  920-952-924-886.  However I have a feeling it will be like the 142s with one shot high and 3 grouping.

Then the 120grs were screamers like the 130s.  I got a high of 977.  I got this string at 3900 -

120gr - 3900FPSI
975-955-916-ERR
4 shots FSPI 3800 EPSI 2300

But the first shot was high with that fill pressure.  3800psi seemed too high as well.  I dropped down to 3700psi and got this decent group at 57yds(Think I pulled that 3rd shot) -

Hoping the 130s group well.  Guessing the 142 BT will do better at distance though.  All in all the .357 conversion did net an extra shot.  Looking to be 3 good and a decent follow up.  Going out tomorrow to see if I can't get me a deer with the 142s.  Will be nice and quiet from all this rain today.

Side note the fine folks at NSA are the bomb.  Just received the 142 and 130 grainers.  I ordered them Christmas eve!

No go on the deer =(  Went out but the wind picked up and made a mess of the day.  So I went ahead and shot off a 70 yard group with the .357 142gr BTHPs.  Looking more and more like a 4 shot deer gun all day with the 142s and a 3800psi fill at least.  Prob a decent follow up in there.  I will test that next time and get it out to a hundred again.

1st 3 shots covered by a bottle cap!  I am not the best shot and was using a sandbag under the forearm as a rest, so they could probably be tightened up.  Wind was a good 10-15mph as well.

Without the cap.

Nice shooting ben!

I love my XP Corsair, I had can change it over to a .357 this fall and it has been awesome.
A brief history, the badger was originally offered by xp over 6 years ago in .40, it had a rest and came back under the epox name, a collaboration of XP and AGD, it is nice to see Dan keeping the name

I am waiting now for my brass round stock to get here so I can turn a new hammer out for the badger on the lathe.I think thats what Im missing with the stronger spring. Its like swinging full throttle with a 1 lb sledge hammer.lol.I believe once I get the right combo with that then this will bee a 4200-3000 psi gun

I'm surprised no one has made a balanced valve for the badger.

Will do.I think it will still be a 3 shot gun just from a higher fill with higher fps/fpe.The heavier hammer should help the dwell time on how long the valve stays open which if I find a constant over 3 shots it will help accuracy.Teethered ,this guns a tack driver, now looking for the hunting balance.I will start with a hammer as heavy as I can and start reducing as I need.

Yeah a heavier hammer would definitely be a nice add to get into the higher pressures.  I am thinking of doing a double hammer spring job.  There is a lot of hammer bounce.  Oh also I found a "two-stage" QB trigger on a r cher airguns(some reason this word is banned LMBO).  The hammer sear wasn't big enough to catch, but the trigger part that emulates the two stage swapped out just fine.  Haven't shot it yet, but it feels pretty good when de-cocking it.  I also added some washers on the side to help with side to side movement.

well I got her turned down today, installed and ready to test tomm.my original hammer was 95.1 so this is a 25 gram jump.should be just about right.also I set the cocking pin back a 1/8 of a inch...that also plays a role in how far the valve can be opened.stock it can only open a 3/16 of a inch before the pin will hit the cocking bolt so this should put it at a 4200 string I hope.Im guessing 4200 on 1st shot,,3800 on 2nd and 3400 on 3rd!We shall see!!
