HAHA Harry, don't want to get the Nerd flag thrown at us, but I was around before there was a Hayes modem also. I had a Timex Sinclair and a Trash 80 computer with a whopping 2kb memory... I shot my weight in BB's back in them days...hehe

Mine will sync then I get a message to check the connection.  I read the add Travis posted and ordered the cable.  Hopefully, it will resolve my issue. My phone has the usb type c connection so not sure if I could find a reasonably price cable for it.

I guess it just will not work with my phone.  It works fine with my old phone so I can still store or send results by email.

Still waiting for an app for my Amazon Fire HD but so far, I am VERY happy and impressed with my upgrade to the Caldwell G2 Ballistic Chronograph. Customer service is working on getting me a direct download (not on amazon) or just sending me a copy of the app to install on my Fire HD. But I'm using my Samsung Galaxy 5 for now. The Bluetooth connection works fantastic. The built in light system is also excellent. It even has a built in rechargeable battery for portable/field use. Because of the weather, the last few shooting sessions have had to be in the shop. I have gotten a couple of error readings but I believe those were my fault, rushing a shot and not paying attention to my alignment through the beams. But overall a fantastic unit I would certainly recommend it!!!
I'm still learning as I go but you can shoot a string of any size and save it. Then select to mail it to your desktop or laptop, or print directly if you have a wireless/Bluetooth printer installed on your smartphone. No more messing with USB cables or the headphone extension cables.

No need for that I simply reasoned that this way I would have two chony's so I would be able to do a number of things,
such as lend it to reloading friends, set them both up at different distance to find BC's etc
if you shoot both at home and the range you can have one for travel and one for home or stationary setup.
you can test the accuracy of each compared to the other or even use both to try and prevent any errors.
and if one gets shot you won't have to wait for the new one to come.

I love enabling  ;)  ;D

Joseph's logic is why I now have two chronys also, and I could justify the Cauldwell because it was on sale...same reasons I justify multiple PCPs and multiple Springers... I love logic... ;D :D ;D

I know this is an old post, but I just fought the same battle today and won.
it's a permission issue for the app.

goto:  apps, settings, applications, chronograph, permissions, grant everything, enjoy.

this worked with the included audio cable.

I bought a Caldwell from Midway when they were on sale also. (Guess I suffer from the same affliction to want to try things) I didn't have much problem connecting it to my smart phone or tablet (I am a computer guy) but I have noticed that sitting side by side with my Chrony F1, the Caldwell is much more sensitive to light changes and tends to consistently show 6-20 fps velocity swings compared to the F1, both with and without the shades. I thought the Caldwell might replace my venerable (which means somewhat shot up) F1, but not so sure that is going to happen...  :-\

My Caldwell also shows velocity swings compared to my Pro Chrono Pal and my $20 Chinese one.
The Caldwell warranty is excellent.
