Scored a C9A Silver Streak!

Made another pawn shop deal while traveling in Arkansas. During the lunch hour when I can't effectively call on customers, I stopped into a pawn shop with loads 'O guns. Lucky for me they had a section with air rifles and it was there I spied a shiny looking Dan. No rear sight but she looked to be all there.
I asked the fellow behind the counter if he would consider a trade, told him I had a Taurus .22 (never liked that pistol, hurt my finger after 6 shots or so). He jumped at the idea and told me the Dan was a leaker. I didn't care, just wanted a silver streak even if I had to work on it.
We made a deal and it wound up costing me $90 (with no cash out of my pocket). Cleaned her up when I got home and did an alcohol flush, she's now right as rain. Ordering up a Williams peep.
No idea how old it is so I might as for some help there.

Looks to me like the serial number starts 597XXXXX so May of '97.

the first 3 or 4 digits of the serial number will allow you to determine when your gun was manufactured

If so, I think that is one of the last "Tang Safety" model before they changed to the Trigger group mounted safety.

  That looks very much like the C9 I got a few weeks back.  I, too, was traveling out of town on business, stopped in at a second-hand/antique shop on my lunch break.  This one had a Williams peep already installed.  Had to reseal but it's working fine now.  I believe it's a '93, cost me 85 bucks.

Your stock looks a little better than mine. I'm thinking of doing an oil finish on mine but I will shoot it for a bit first.

Can’t beat that for 90 bucks. Very similar to Terry’s C9. I believe you would have the cartridge whereas Terry’s 93 would be a soldered valve.

  I have to disagree.  To my eye, the pre-Benjamin Sheridans are much nicer looking.
