Total website overhaul.
« on: October 25, 2018, 07:07:41 PM »
A new site is on the way. It is a total rework and will include online ordering. My developer (she is well experienced with airgun sites) tells me to expect it as early as November 2, 2018.

I will announce it here again when it is live. Till then there might and probably will be times when the current site is unavailable or unreachable.

I am pretty excited and hope you will be also when the update is completed.

The new site is up and online ordering is active. It will take me quite a while to populate the store with products but I am now moving forward again thanks to a very fine web designer and a real nice person too. Please check it out and let me know what you think. My prices might look higher than other sites but I have included shipping in the price of items listed so what you see is the total you pay with no hidden fees.

A big thank you to everyone who has been a part of the journey to this point.

OK guys I have gotten the site usable and stocked it with a few items BUT there are still no sales. Not one order through the web site EVER!  :'(
Also no inquiries about hunting either even though we are in the middle of Quail, Turkey and Whitetail Deer season.  :o

I cannot sustain this cost indefinitely and funds are beginning to dwindle.
Please tell me what the issue might be in your view as to what the issue with making sales now might be.  ???

Several individuals have told me I HAVE to establish a Facebook presence if I want to succeed these days. I cannot do that no matter the cost to my business for ethical and personal reasons (I know them inside and out from my Internet Security work days).  >:(

Hi,
Nice website! Sorry about sales numbers.

How about making a YouTube channel?
People searching for airguns in Texas would find your videos... which could just be you hunting or even an advertising video, that further has a link to your website.
Doesn't have to be fancy to start...
get a YouTube account for the ranch, and a video can be done with a cell phone and a friend.  Upload it, and you're part of the internet.  Have a look at what others have done.
Just a thought and another avenue of free publicity.

I second the you tube channel. I also do not do Facebook either. If I had not JUST bought an argo 8-34 not two weeks ago ida jumped on that 10-40x56.
I know it doesn't help but honestly I've never heard of your site and it's never come up in any of my searches.maybe some kind of optimization??? If that's what its called.
I'm currently in the market for some 1322 stuff, I did a search in your site and no parts came up. I would be willing to spend more for 1322 stuff I'm looking for if you had it just to help a gta member out in some way

@Florida Grown and Hayfoot I have a YouTube Channel but it is empty because video is not a strong skill set with me. Guess I better spend some time trying to do that.

Thanks farmerjoe99.

On the 1322 stuff .... my bad (If Air Venturi carries it I can source it though since I am a AV dealer)

I have concentrated on mainly hunting grade hardware useful for game I have on the ranch ... Anything from Pack Rats and Hispid Cotton Rats to Hogs, Rabbits (Jack and Cotton Tail), Possum, Raccoon, Armadillo, Badger, Bobcat, Coyote, Mountain Lion (I really hate it when one shows up because that equals lost beef), Bobwhite Quail, Blue Quail, Turkey, Waterfowl  (no airguns on waterfowl ... Federal Law), Crows Grackles, Black Birds, Snakes and Deer (mule and whitetail). Even have a channel catfish pond (we call them "tanks" here).

Do you think hunting privileges on 400 acres for $150 per day is a fair price for non-game species?

Same here, 1000 dollar guns are nice, but outside my budget. But everybody who is not a caster has to buy pellets....

I second the suggestion of a YouTube channel (and posting the vids on your own webpage as well).

I would recommend also putting your videos on real.video.  It's new and not nearly as well known as YouTube, but real.video definitely won't ever remove your videos or shadow-ban you just because it's gun-related material.  The owners are definitely very pro-1st & -2nd Amendment (as well as the rest of the bill of rights).  You can post links to those in your posts and in your signature line to spread the word.

To date I have been unable to find a pellet supplier that can provide me pellets at a price to compete with PA and AGD ... Buy 4 get one free. I even buy pellets from them rather than Air Venturi the wholesale side of PA.

I am also not much of a $1K gun guy. I probably will not have them next year because I cannot meet FX-USA's minimum yearly purchase requirement and Precision Airgun Distribution is not particularly happy about my low volume sales either. Even Air Venturi has a minimum but I can meet it fairly easily although they are not real happy supplying locations without a store front and I expect a policy change to occur in the future. Travis over at Jefferson State Air Rifles will sell me Evanix at dealer prices but I would not want to even seem to compete with them here.

IF it wasn't for those Fool MAP pricing agreements that I am bound to I would sell guns at a $50 to $100 markup ;) (without free shipping) to GTA Members and I would probably make a lot of high volume sales. Alas those agreements prohibit advertising such low prices. ;)

I use my Marauders and Airforce Guns mostly due to my ability to modify them and get a lot of power output for hunting.

As I said earlier I have suppliers that can provide any of the lower end guns to me too. The caveat for me is my location (and available funds) .... Hunting yes .... accessibility to a population center so I could have a storefront ... ZERO ... Dallas is 5 hours East, Lubbock is 1 1/2 hours West, Amarillo 3 hours North ... Austin 5 hours south.

Suggestions of other than primitive hunting and camping at my site are greatly appreciated but I just do not have anything else to invest at this time in structures or facilities.

I always try to give the kind of deals I would want myself.

Keep the suggestions coming. I will try to incorporate those I can currently afford .

The website turned out very nice. From my past promotion attempts early in the internet days, I found that linking up with as many social media sites as possible. Also I am not sure if on the gooey side of your site, there are what they call key words, and meta tags, these will help search engines find items etc. that people are searching for. Nothing happens overnight, and can take years. Alongside the internet I also held and attended local events that pertained to my business, the local personal contact did the most for sales IMO.
