The stand alone HP compressors like the Yong heng have a built in first stage compressor which the 1p1060sp replaces by supplying 125 psi (?) to the shoe box F10. The shoebox takes that 125 psi and thru 2 more stages boosts the air pressure up to 4500 psi. The yong heng uses only 2 stages to do the same thing but is very hard pressed to fill a large HP air tank without first over heating and 2 wearing out prematurely. The yong heng does ok filling JUST air rifles but needs to be maintained much more often like changing out second stage rings and changing the oil. When not if my vevor compressor which is a cheaper knock off of the yong heng dies I will be getting a shoebox. I really wish I would've paid the $50 more for the yong heng compressor which is also much easier to get replacement parts for than the vevor/tuxing/?  The shoe box is know to last years before needing to be rebuilt and every part is available here in the USA made by Americans.

Just got my new nova victory .22 today, pumped it up to 2500 to see if it would hold air and it lost all the air in about 15 min.  you could hear it hissing down around the trigger. now I am bummed, what would you do send it back or try fix it yourself. if it is just a oring I could do that but I just don't think I should have to work on a brand new gun.

Make sure the bleed screw is tight.  I had one leak where the plenum attaches to the receiver.  The o-ring was squished out.  A new o-ring fixed that.

you will need the Shoe Box compressor which is on sale from $1000 to $500 and use the 1p1060sp to feed it air. the shoe box does the 3000-4500psi. i know  its expensive but its worth every penny.

Silent S, the Liberty can be pumped but in sessions. pump to 1ksi, break, then pump to 2ksi, break then 3ksi, then 3.6ksi.
just buy a compressor, i have the ahor box and 1p1060sp california air tools. the shoe box quiet i van fill it at 12am.
Also,  buy the rifle of your dreams and the air supply made for it. don't let the pump spoil the sport.

I'm a springer/ntiro piston shooter, hoping to learn more about PCP
That was supposed to happen with my Nova Freedom but I've yet to get more than 100 rounds through one as it spends most of it's time being regenerated in South Carolina.
Currently undergoing its 3rd iteration.
That said, I'm not sure what the "airgun of my dreams" is just yet; and as I learn it will get defined
So I think the decision now is to go for the Stormrider Gen 2./22cal
I already have the hand pump.
For a $245 investment (rifle, $200; FFH, $45 shipped) experience with PCPs is at hand

FYI
If were capricious; & careless with my fixed income, I would spring right now for a Yong Heng and a Sumatra 2500.
(I wonder if barrels are interchangeable between 22 & 25 caliber)

I never knew you were in the neighborhood or I certainly would have. I've just got a portable swamp cooler to blow cool air on me.

I just upped the reg to 1/4 turn ccw and pumped the rifle up to 3600 psi. Shot 1 21.14 Cuda across the crono and got 967 fps. That's about a 40 fps increase from the stock setting it was at.

I found my leak in the liberty it was the degas bolt, it was leaking around it and it was screwed in as tight as it would go. is there a o-ring in there? I took it out and could not see one.

I've got the HS adj at just short of coil bind right now. Drilled the hole in the butt stock to access the HS adj so will be playing around with that a little but don't really want to go to high on the reg right now.
Yeah, I know it's not exactly straight! lol What do you expect with a hand drill using a 2 or 3 foot long 3/8 drill? lol

Point of fact is I never would consider the Stormrider comparable to the Liberty.
It would simply be an easy entry, cheap seats ticket into the PCP world.
I will however run the numbers on a compressor & the Liberty using the code.
It may prove to be more affordable than I assume.

Question about the Yong Heng type compressors
Is there any advantage (especially safety advantage) to the versions that shut off at a specific preset psi; or is the plain Jane shut it off on your own OK?
I would not be filling a tank, but filling the gun directly

I use a plain jane knock off vevor.. I would not trust anything like auto shut off.. But if you are filling you gun you would be right there anyway...

Not yet Duy. Heck, I need to send the old left over pieces of the ChiCom crono to hunter white also and haven't done that. My son and son inlaw were suppose to come over and help me move a 300 lb gun safe into the house for the wife. They postponed until tomorrow so might just head in this after noon to mail both. How much more fpe is your valve good for over the stocker? With the stocker I'm up to 43.5 fpe with the reg at what should be 2100 psi shooting the cuda 21.14 pellet and the hs adj just short of coil bind.

Stephen. shoot some 26.1grain slugs to compare to my results. your 28 and 30grains speed are good. are those results from .203 barrel port? thats not bad...tinker with the 50fpe gun, if in doubt, swap the valves and see if it does better in that other gun.

Robert, you will not be able to seal with hand pumps. try again with the compressor. my shoebox sometimes cannot fill it. send those to me ill resurface them and give ya a proper instruction sheet. "dont burnish brass counter sunk valves and poppets. do some dry fires while filling, this helps seat new poppets."

I agree with Duy! Much better than a stromrider IMHO. Good trigger, power, accuracy and adjustable. It's a plinker, Hunter or long range shooter.

You can get the yong Heng at Walmart for $235. Don't get the auto shut off because the power relay can burn very easily as it did on me.
