What airgun related did you do today?

Installed Excel on the tablet and created a simple templet for recording data on my airguns.
Favorite pellets, range distance hold over and under from 35yd zero, max fill capacity and shots per fill. I can keep service records.
I also have a space to insert a Digital Link shot string and a picture of the gun.
So far I got the NoDoze recorded.
My data has always been scattered between several devices. This way I can get it all put into this format, upload the data files to the cloud and access them from all the devices.
The Pro Chrono can link to this tablet through USB.

Nothing today, looked outside and it was Raining, had another tree up the road fall on the power lines, power stayed on, they just put some cones around it till they feel like cutting it up.... I would like some of that fire wood for the winter....

I received the package containing a set of neon target stickers plus the two all-black peep sight inserts, with 0.093” and 0.050” openings. I put in the smaller one to see if it was better for bright sunlight than my 0.093” “Twilight” insert.

Yes, it was. I only fired three test shots with it today. That’s enough to confirm it was worth buying. I’ll try it in lower light and then swap in the 0.093” all-black insert for comparison.

Started to reassemble the Plenum Notos. Refused to air up.  Found the Manometer o-ring split.  Replaced with a green o-ring from my variety pack, but still no joy.  Back in the case on this work night.

I made a leather cheek pad / riser for the American Boy 1300kt because I needed just a little bit of added comb height, a piece of 8oz veg tan sandwiched between 2 layers of 4oz were just the ticket.



White isn't exactly my 1st choice of color, but I salvaged a bunch of leather off a lounge chair somebody was throwing out awhile back and it was ideal for this.
I could dye it, but sweat would just cause that to leach off onto my cheek.

I could dye it, but sweat would just cause that to leach off onto my cheek.

1 piece of 9oz veg tan sandwiched between 2 layers of 4oz gave me the perfect amount of extra comb height.

This is a post that I should not have thought about because it acknowledges my covetessness .
I called into the gun shop yesterday and there in the rack was a Gamo Wildcat Whisper  499 99 dollars NZ. A very mid range rifle. To me a nice simple looking gun
Plastic stock, plastic covered barrel . I don,t decry that because I have other plastic Gamos that serve me very well. It also had a plastic 4 x 32 scope. I rationalised that a plastic scope could be good. After all we now have plastic lenses in our spectacles. Maybe that scope has the same or maybe glass . The plastic scope tube might have some useful advantages over aluminium. Not sure if the trigger was SAT or not
I didn't get the salesman  to unlock the gun from the rack. That could have been a step too far. I don't need any more guns.
I am on my second cup of Dilma tea not Old Jo . Now I am off to take Mac for a walk in the paddocks and forget all this airgun nonsense. Not even taking a gun because there are no rabbits about.

In all of our lives there are a few guns that we remember and "shoulda bought".

I was going to cast but the dang squirrel showed up.

Instead I walked into the CC and saw that table I stole from Betty Lou and figured I'd give it back before she told me how she REALLY felt about me taking it. 
I went to the RS and cleaned out a Craftsman roller tool box lower. It had served as a catch all ever since I inherited the large one from my BIL. I took that chest to the CC and cut some rubberized shelf liner I had to line the top 3 drawers and sorted a set of tools into them.
I folded up a flannel sheet and put it on top for a pad.
It's airgun related because I can just roll it over in front of the door and shoot bench rest off of the top of it instead of that folding table.

I’m putting off doing anything outdoors in this blasting, intense heat that fired up almost immediately after the unusually cold start to spring. And the abnormal wind is still going every day at least part of the day.

I finally compared shooting the Blue Streak with the tiny-holed peep insert vs the standard one, both in all black. Long enough after sunset to go dim though not dark yet, I couldn’t even see the front sight. Missed the can (!) even though that normally would’ve been a hit right away. I grabbed the scoped Daisy and could still see and shoot decently in that amount of light.

The next night (last night) I went out a bit earlier and tried both sizes of inserts. The standard size hole was easier to aim with, so I’ll stick with either the Twilight or the all-black standard hole unless I’m shooting in bright daytime sunlight, in which case the tiny-holed insert might be better. That will need a separate comparison.

None of these quick tests involved gun rests. All were done either standing offhand or sitting on ground with a bent knee for partial support. Crude, but those are the ways I usually shoot.

 A rainy morning sent me to the basement, first on the agenda was to fit the new prism sight on an airgun of smaller stature.
.25 Space Cowboy Bottle Jet1 got the privilege's.


 With the recent Crosman 101 102 100 postings, I figured it was time for me to do some fixing on that, along with installing a Williams D5 peep sight sighted in with a lucky elevation guess 


 All sealed up and shooting strong.
Over 750 FPS    with alloy pellets  [/color]



 Almost 700 fps with 7 pumps and Benjamin hollow point, a slight puff of retained air, that can be released by pushing on the cocking knob.


 Then since I had a Ballastol wipe out, I went and wiped down all my classics, and rearranged my display case a bit.

 Oh and I took my Crosman 100 year anniversary 362 out of the box, wiped it down with Ballastol and inspected it thoroughly, then shot a 5 shot group with 5 pumps and Norma heavy's, it did well
 Also put the scope I took off the Jet onto my 1322 carbine.
