What airgun related did you do today?

I went to work and earned money to, more than likely, buy airguns and stuff.

I shot my new to me Vintage Boone pistol. I think it's cool to reach back in history and shoot a old one.

How do you cock/load it? That looks pretty nifty

You pull the loop forward until it catches and then when you pull the trigger remember it will return quickly, LOL

Resealed the '65 140 today.

I took out the Beeman Falcon-Rs .25 and took off the stock and oiled it, then put it all back after checking all internal air components including the built in gauge.  I pumped it back up from 120 BAR to 200 BAR and rechecked the BugBuster UTG with yardage. 

All checked out and the Falcon-Rs .25 looks brand new with the new oil finish I hand rubbed on.

So I go to thinking how useful this PCP is especially to me, making my collection of springers appreciated as well as this PCP itself.

I then shot the HW35 E .22 along with my HW50S .22, finishing with my HW50S .177 shooting and maintenance.

My arms and hands and shoulders are tired!

I setup a spoiled tangerine out at 50 yards on the ground.  I then pulled out my .22 Synrod that I haven't shot in quite awhile and blasted that orange on the first shot shooting prone.  I hit it two more times after that.  It's nice to know the Synrod is still ready and able.

I did mount a dot sight on my Webley Nemesis .22 and shot about 30 rounds, also took a few break barrel shots , before getting that popped

Great job teaching her the right way to handle a gun Skeeter. I spent some time putting the 25, 22, and .177 caliber slugs I got this week in old pellet tins and labeled them with a sharpie and masking tape and stored them into the appropriate container. Other than that not much this morning. I plan on doing some testing with the 22 slugs today but we have a new oven coming and still have to make out weekly Walmart trip so I'm holding off getting into anything until those two items are dealt with.

I finally got around to testing some slugs I was sent by a member here.  I don't recall the type or weight of the slugs, but compared to the JSB MKII's the pellets performed better in the rifle I tested.  These are 5 shot groups at 37 yards shot from my Galatian, Sumatra and Marauder.  The Sumatra did the best with the slugs and the Marauder did the best with pellets.  The poor Galatian has only had about 100 pellets through it, so it may get better over time...

What brand of slugs and what grain Paul? Also what caliber? I'm thinking 25 since that is what your Sumatra is chambered in.

 It may have been some of the .22  30 grain possibly 40 gr. .25 NOE BBT, home cast I sent Paul awhile back

Besides doing a bit of plinking I thought about some projects.

When I was getting ready for my morning bicycle ride, I discovered a flat front tire.  I replaced the tube and aired it up.  About 30 seconds later, it said Pssssss!  I found the problem and repaired the rim tape, replaced the tube, and aired it up again.  This time it held.
So you are asking what this has to do with airguns?  Well, duhhh, the tires are PCP tires.  And the pumping is a good workout for airing up the rifles.   


PS - If you have not bought a bicycle tube in the last five years, get ready for "sticker SHOCK".  $12 plus tax.  OUCH!

Just got done tearing apart my DAR177, needed to repair a broken poppet.  I noticed when I tore it apart that the cap for the valve spring was turned in considerably further than what my other two DAR's are, I figure it was too much spring tension on the poppet is what caused it to brake myself.
