I put in an offer to buy a pre-owned air rifle last night. With a bit of luck this would be my first air rifle since a mid 60's Benjamin .22, last shot sometime around the late 80's.

Looks like I came up hours or possibly minutes short, on a FWB 124 listed at another airgun board. Oh well, best of luck to the buyer of that prize rifle. It was the first actual movement towards acquiring an air rifle, since joining GtA.

As mentioned elsewhere I'm a long time past powder burner hunter, and when I got interested in airguns recently, my first google search was Feinwerkbau. It was all I knew other than Benjamin, Crosman, or Sheridan. Out of that I learned of GtA.

Otoh I'm getting closer to choosing a contemporary German air rifle, with about two choices and a long shot. Unless another choice FWB comes up in the meantime, of course.

Spent $52 to send a break barrel to Crosman for warranty repair. Last month the Gauntlet went back the month prior to that I sent one to Mike at Flying Dragons. The wife is not too happy. She just informed me our four seasons room is not a gun room. She doesn't know I'm planing to purchase a HW97K in March. I'm going to lay low till then.

I worked on my 68' Crosman 140, I figured out it needs rebuilt. after several years away and my guns collecting dust I decided it is time to dust em off, and get them all dialed in.
Thats about it.

After some reading, found out there may be spurs in the 1322 main tube.so took it apart (still kinda new with about 300rnds. through it),carb cleaned it, chucked a cleaning rod on the drill with a 20ga. bore brush(copper), used hoppes 9 and went back and forth kinda like I would if I was honing a cylinder,cleaned with carb cleaner, then put a 20ga. mop on the rod and continued with Blue Magic polish cream in the same manner.cleaned that out with carb cleaner then oiled the tube up with rem oil. That was my best guess how to go about it with what I had on hand.
While apart went ahead and polished the hammer, and just the contact points on the sear and trigger.
Not sure if I was supposed to use the Rem oil or not but didn't think itd hurt.
Then went to shoot the GF's 1077 and had to tighten that brass screw at the c02 seal area (Gun only has about 200rnds. through it).

Browsed GTA a bit after work died down. Probably going to repair my Benjamin 347 tonight so that ought to count for something. I'm actually a little intimidated to pull it apart. The valve looks like it's tough to get in and out properly.

Also looked at some target ideas for some weekend shooting if the rain ever quits. I haven't come up with a good indoor shooting solution yet that won't perforate my drywall.

I was reading here in the forum at 1:25AM immediately after taking 10 shots with my cast .22 30g BBT's
at a target I made up with five red dots. These little slugs seem to shoot in about any of my .22's very well
and my rat 150 is no exception

I just can't wait til I get the seal kit for my really nice new looking one

I am a springer guy, just like the simplisity of a gun a tin of pellets and the triggerstick and i can shoot as much as i want without having to pump the gun up all the time, but i miss my hatsan bt65 that i sold a couple years ago so i am reading up on all the info there is about it, i had the 25 cal with Lothar Walther barrel, very accurate but not so many shots, but tons of power! So maybe there is a chanse i buy one in 22 cal, or a 177 just for the stupidly fast speeds, but don't know if the Lothar barrel is so much better than the hatsan original that it make up for the extra cost...

Set up my new Caldwell ballistics precision chronograph and started playing with it. Never thought I would be so excited figuring out what kind of FPS and foot pounds of energy my airguns are putting out.

Here is a five shot string on my one of my best bargain gate deals, a refurb BSA lighting xl se .22 (cost was in the end was like $120). Pellets btw were H&N Baracuda Green 12.35 lead free

Maybe if I were to just cover a whole wall in pellet holes, she wouldn't notice. Might even put it up on Pinterest or something as shabby-chic!

This last Fall my 2nd Var 160 developed a leak, would exhaust a cart as soon as pierced. I put it in the safe to rebuild this Winter in the off time.
Well, snow squall last night and wind is howling this morning... Brrrrr.
So today was the day. Took me 1 hour at a leisurely pace with a couple breaks to get it almost completely disassembled and cleaned. Now a trip to town for a grocery run, then I will put it back together.
I say "almost" because I need to get the stock mounting stud out without marring it with pliers in order to remove the valve. So, while I am in town, I will stop at the hardware store for a sacrificial nut to "double nut it" out.

I don't think this gun has EVER been apart.

removed the new vortex scope i mounted on my recluse a couple weeks ago,
found out that its not performing like i have been told they do.....last evening deer hunting with my grandson it was not gathering light no where near as good as the BSA i removed.

so its going back on the mail run tomorrow...

I just got done sorting pellets that I cast this morning and I got 437 good ones and 7 bad ones, had a pretty good run for being cold out there like it is. It sill hasn't hit freezing today and hunting is out of the question because with the wind it just don't make for a good time IMO
