What airgun related did you do today?

I did some more work on that Slavia 618.
Anybody who's familiar with these little guns knows that a lot of them shoot high and need a taller front sight.

I have never done this before but had nothing to lose but time, I had enough scrap steel laying around for a couple dozen attempts if actually came to that and the frustration didnt break me first.

Surprisingly I came away with a functional front sight on the 1st attempt, it's not pretty but I managed with nothing but a hacksaw and file.



I also took the original front sight of the other 618 that was missing the elevation screw, and made a dovetail filler out of it.


With this taller front sight I was able to take advantage of that little dovetail rail at the back to mount a William's 5DAG, and boy is this thing a fun little plinker that I can hit the little air venturi silhouettes with all day long at 10yds.

 I put an old decrepit Hammers scope on my Beeman RS2 project. Thought the scope was toast (bind in windage turret), but it has enough adjustment to zero on the Beeman!

 Cleaned up and reblued the barrel and pump tube on the '89 Crosman 760-C I'm  puttering on.

Dialed in the Notos with the new regulated drop block, got it shooting around 760fps, need to do a little more adjusting and porting, trying to get 780fps or better, got it shooting like a laser right now, so I might just leave it alone.

Since I put a chopper break barrel in the gun racks of each of the ATVs, I can't hardly walk past them without picking up one up and taking a shot.

I've got one of my 45min scba tanks hooked up and filling from my F10. Soon as it's done I'll hook up the other 45min scba tank and fill it. Going to pressurize the impact and spray some soapy water at potential leak points and try to find out where it's leaking.

Drove an hour outside ATL to a new WMA that has an Archery Range.  I did a little pre-season walking with my OnX app and noted the Food Plot Location, a creek, several trails that I will "woods walk" later and just enjoyed how remote it is.  It's a hardwood forest with surprisingly little underbrush this time of year.  Very easy walking even off trail.  Only clocked about 1.5 miles today but I see a 3-4 mile loop mapping the existing logging roads/trails, food plots and creeks and keeping my eyes peeled for scat and possible locations for one of my trail cameras.
On the way home there is a Gun/Pawn shop that has 5 25yard and 5 50yard lanes gun range and they are PB & AG friendly.  I have a few things to sight in at 50 before the season starts so looking forward to next weekend.
As a bonus I got fresh apples, blackberries, raspberry preserves and a couple fried pies at the roadside appleshop....
And found a local greasy spoon 1/2 mile from the WMA as well.  All in all a productive day.

Look good!  Question.  That looks like a mid 80s to 90s 760.  Does that a rifled barrel by any chance?

 Tested some .177 16 gr ZAN slugs in my Hatsan ATP2 Tactical they seem accurate and pack a punch at 650 fps' stuffed animal brain splatter to prove it

I made squirrels laugh....
For the second time since my accident I tried a bit of shooting. The ribs seem to have healed (mostly), all 9 of them (7 on the left, 2 on the right). Both clavicles were broken... the left side is fused in a rather awkward position, the right side seems to be better but still painful. In any case, I figured I could try the Crosman 150... i couldn't hit the ground if i pointed the thing down   Peacemaker time... same result I picked up the Umarex Cowboy Legends, aimed at a squirrel about 25 ft. away.... Folks, have you ever seen squirrels laughing? My shooting was so bad, the darn things were laughing at me!

Let them get cocky watching you shoot poorly, while you also secretly practice indoors. Then give ‘em a big surprise one day.

I’m still waiting for a handpump for my new Crosman 3622 so I haven’t shot it yet.  I don’t want to do any mods on it until I’ve had a chance to check it for function.  Still, I’m aching to get the plastic breech off of it and a proper steel breech installed.  The iron sights are actually pretty nice but still not good enough for my old eyes.  So today I mounted a pair of Crosman 13XX intermounts I just happened to have in a box.  I found a cheap but decent 4X32 scope in another box and mounted that with a set of no-name rings from yet another box.  Hopefully this will work to test the gun for function, velocity and accuracy.  If it turns out to be a keeper I’ve got a steel breech and a BuckRail moderator for it.

yes, 1989 760-C.     It had welded on sights front and rear and is rifled.
 Sights were a mess, bent /warped so I removed them knowing I was going to scope it. Did not think at first that it was rifled.
 Happily surprised!
