Which of the RWS 34's to choose?

I would call the order in and have stock checked if you want a .177

First, thanks to all who jumped in and offered info and suggestions.

My plan was to do exactly as Tom (critter99) suggested and buy the RWS 34 from PA.

(Sheepishly) I got distracted and went down a different path entirely, buying an R7 from PA. Everything is a compromise and I am sure there are other air guns in my future.

what caliber did you get??  They are suppsed to be great rifles less power than a 34 but very easy to shoot well

Having heard good things about the .20 caliber, I was tempted but settled on the .177; I guess I was just programmed that way.

Some of my thoughts were reputation for being easy to shoot, quietness, power adequate for my intended use (I don't shoot critters), available as a bare rifle without sights or scope and I find it aesthetically pleasing. Oh yeah, the fact that PA had the R7 in stock probably didn't hurt, either.
