Rotometals are now selling their casting alloys in "nugget" form, chunks about an inch long and 3/4" diameter.... REALLY easy to use....

Bandsaws tend to grab on lead unless you use a grease stick type lubricant....

For them 5lb ingots I used an axehead hammered through for nice chunks, I've got about a dozen that I found metal detecting both hatchet and axeheads.

I molded up a bunch this morning using the brass mold and I must say what a treat it was, that mold drops them perfect and the results are exceptional IMO

a acquaintance had a big ingot and I said use a hatchet and sledge... he said naw and whipped out the torch..

Here's one that I recovered soon after I started casting these 25's I was using an old Crosman target with rags in it but the angled steel plate came loose in the back this one hit it square.

I tried Drop Out mold release spray on my AL mold this weekend, have not tested yet, but they were dropping cleaner and faster than just flaming. They do have a rougher finish , kinda knurled look, I may apply it then buff it into the mold for the next run.

My lead from Rotometals is out for delivery right now. . . . 50+lbs worth in a split pig ingot, it's nice that they include shipping with the split ingot. I cast some of the 36.5 grain pellets today and they shoot really good.
