I enjoy shooting my PP700 carbine but didn't having to dig into my pocket to find another pellet for the fallowing shot and have been looking for something that is small enough to side mount onto the breech and something that will pretect the skirts when I store it in my hiking pack. I designed this to hold 10 pellets and use velcro to attach and take off as needed which adds the convenience have using mulitple disspensers when on runs out. Next stage programing and then watch the chips fly!!

Here is the first opp for making the base. It integrates the drum for the dial indexer to interface with. The last opp is to face the back side off and break the edge. Tomorrow I will attack the dial indexer and test the parts. Then off to prep for anodizing. I think I am going to do a two tone in red and dark blue.

Looks a lot like an old split shot dispenser I used to have. I don't think it was as compact though...Great idea!

I saw one of those that was similar posted on another forum. It was a plastic one with a clear top (I don't know what they call it) I saw about a month ago that inspired the idea. Then I did so more digging and found the lead shed but they are no longer available and are larger than I wanted. The one I designed is 1.427 in diameter and is .630 in overall height so I can accommodate for different lengths, including polymags. I give credit to the original designers for the inspiration.

I have 4 of them, one in each cal 177 to 30, that I got from a guy on this site that makes them with his 3D printer. They may be bigger than yours but I love them. Of course they will not be as strong as yours if you are machining them from metal!

Work kept me away but here is the final part of the project with a fresh anodized finish in red and dark blue that has a blued steel look.

The last past to machine was the indexing knob. Like the first part, I started with aluminum round stock and roughed the profile out.

The last part on the first opp was to complete the profile with a smaller tool that the previous cound not reach.

To complete the indexing knob, I needed a way to hold the part without investing too much time into specialized fixturing for single part. The usual course of action is to make softjaws to hold the part in the vice but there is an easier way that only takes a few minutes to do and will achieve the same results. I took advantage of the two bore holes for locating the part and clocking it in the exact position needed for engraving by making a fixture plate with two holes machined for dowel pins. I used a trick a learned a few years ago to hold the part to the fixture, super glue! A little heat with break the bond and acetone with dissolve the glue for easy clean up.

For size comparision, I placed a 8 shot Prod mag right next to the 10 shot holder.

A little strip of velcro and the pellet holder can be readliy placed and removed.

Very nice. My Lead Shed has a tapped hole on the back, which allows mounting to a scope ring or some other mount. Might be a good alternative to Velcro.

That can be done easily, thanks for the tip

I wanted something that can be mounted quickly and taken off without tools. The thinking behind that is having a few dispencers that can be swapped out when one goes dry for field use.

Thank you, I did do the anodizing. I have been very happy with the results I have been getting.

I am working on a slightly different version that is top loading and dispensing that holds a total of 12 for the same size in 22. I am thinking about posting this in the hobbist sellers gate if someone wanted one for themselves.

They retail for $50 and may or may not include free shipping.
Is this something that would you could do and save a guys some bucks?

It can be done and I have thought about it. If the volume is there and min 20 presale I would take it on. They would be in the low $30 range each.
