Here is a quick fixture I did to hold the top half of the part for the last machining opp. Its made to fit the contour of the part snugly and a short pin to index the part in the correct position and like before, a little super glue to keep the part from flying out during machining. The neat thing about doing a setup up like this is the part is already located on the control which speeds up setup time and an accurate part.



A little measuring to ensure the depth is correct. I will use this value later for comping tool lengths later.



Perfecto! The fixture holds onto the part just snug enough that there is no play when I twist it back and forth but just loose enough that all it takes is a light tap from the dead blow hammer to seat the part to the bottom.

Here is the back side of the top machining completed. The fixture worked perfectly in keeping both top and bottom features aligned. 
I then soaked the part and fixture in acetone and a light tap with a derin punch from the underside was all it took to set the part free.

I chose to dye the top black and the bottom red. The changes I made to this version over the first is that it now holds 12 vs 10 in the same size footprint. I was able to do this by eliminating the dead spot and making it load and feed from the top instead of the side. The other change this has is two tapped #8 holes for mounting such as a wrist straps, scope tube adapter or to the sight dovetail rail.

Top loading design can work quite well. I have one in a scope wheel.

That is a neat idea. I am liking the top loader more than the side loader. I find it easier to opperate with one hand and it holds more pellets for the same size.
