This thread is 4 years old. I really like my fully tuned TX200MK3, it is very accurate. 70 yards no problem. You will find more TX200MK3s for sale in the classifieds here than the HW97ks. That should speak for it's self.

  Hey Jesse half the fun in here is when some of the old threads resurface on a topic of interest! Got to say I love my TX200 MKIII awesome springer I would probably have added an HK 97 to the stable if I haden't jumped into the Darkside of the pool but I will probably end up with one as soon as I buy a new gun safe to hide all the toys in so that my springer collection is more diverse.

Neither.
I'd go for the HC model
Much easier to wield around in the field.
.22 is overkill for HOSPs and Starlings IMO, I'd go for the flatter .177 cal.

We have BOTH in the family ... Son the 97k, Me the Tx200

Don't care for the grip on the 97, too dang small !! and the barrel weight is even more than the TX  Not an Off Hand shooter IMO.
BOTH are stupid accurate tho.

Really love my TX200 because it fits me better and just have no complaints what so ever.

May as well add my $0.00 ( ) I prefer the TH stock on the 97KT over the TX's more 'traditional' stock. Have since sold my TX and am forever keeping my 97KT! It's definitely a personal choice between these two! The 97KT is sleek, slender and perfect ergonomically. TX's stock is pretty but too beefy and wields like a tank compared to the streamlined KT for off-hand shooting/hunting. These 2 are so close, you can't go wrong with either.

I recently bought the HW97K.  I read everything I could find on it and the TX, and the two were dead even.  For every passionate proponent of one there was an equally passionate proponent of the other.  In the end, do you know what tipped the scales for me?  The checkering.  The fish scales didn't do much for me.  So anyway, GatorGunner, I wish you the same joy with yours that I have found with mine.  You can't go wrong with either choice.

I owned all there, Prosport, TX and HW-97. All dead even as far as accuracy. Prosport and TX much nicer checkering on stocks. I chose the HW-97 because of the wide open loading port. Much easier to
load pellets for me. Sold the Prosport and TX. No regrets.

I owned both. The HW trigger was my favourite but the looks of the AA still make I miss it. Both are accurate rifles.

Love these threads!  Funny thing is once you spend a little time on the Weihrauch forum, you get to hear one side of the argument, then trot over to the AA forum and hear exactly the same argument, just reversed! 
I'll just say this:  I own a TX200 (Mk2) and it's a grand old rifle.  When I was trying to choose between the TX and the 97, the difference for me came down to one thing: walnut.  On all other counts they seemed equal.  Accuracy, fit & finish, competition legacy, etc etc.  It was seeing those pics in the "British Bombshells" thread in the UK forum that finally got to me.  I'm a sucker for a stunning walnut stock.
You can't go wrong with either one, and many own both.

I'm one that owns both.......put over 16000 thru the 97 and well over 20,000 thru the TX......and I could never choose one over the other.
Both have PG2 kits and Motörhead Magic.
Neither is pellet or hold fussy.
Both shoot great rested directly off a bag.
Both are insane accurate. Really insane accurate!!
Both are scope friendly and never trashed one.
Fit and finish on both are nearly perfect. Gorgeous rifles!
Both have proven to shoot well for noobies, with a bit of instruction.
Both have amazing triggers. Really amazing!!
Both of mine wear beech and can't choose which is nicer. Both beautiful and comfy.
After half an hour of getting familiar with cocking and loading both are simple. Loading either without looking is simple. No issues with either.
Both are very quiet and backyard friendly.
Very smooth cocking cycle with a satisfying scrunch at lock up.

Differences
97 stock is ambi, TX right handed. Both gorgeous and fit beautifully!
TX little easier to cock....H/C prob about the same as 97. Cocking lever on MK111 longer than 97.
No anti bear trap release on 97.
No ratchet sound when cocking 97.
Bluing on TX is like black chrome and DEEP!! 97 bluing doesn't come close, but looks good.
Checkering on stocks: TX fish scale is gorgeous.....97 stippling looks great and is a little more grippy, I really like both.
Firing cycle on TX is a solid thud, 97 sharper snap.
97 is a hair more powerful.

Try and pick one over the other??? I couldn't!!
