Says the guy that talked me into a Warp!   ;D

Frank, now you know.  Don't do as I say.....  or as I do ;)  The only reason I would tell someone not to buy a WAR gun is if they couldn't get past the looks.  I know some like the more traditional gun look and I do too but I also like the tactical looking guns also.  They are as modular as it gets, kind of like a high quality Impact without all the o rings and RMA's ;)

FYI, I've never held an Impact but I can read ::)

I started to notice some spiraling after I turned the speed up and thought maybe there was too much (wasted) air blasting out behind the pellet that it was causing them to wobble.  So today I turned the reg and HST back down to 810fps (took 5 minutes ;) )and it is super accurate again but can still see the pellets wobbling a little when I shoot them at a dark tree stump.  Most likely time for a good barrel cleaning as its been a while.

I am going to keep the fps down here for more shots, less noise and less cocking effort.  A win, win, win.

Barrel length is certainly part of the equation, but so is the valve.

The Cobra Valve shows an increase of about 12-15fps/inch of barrel going from 20" barrel to 24" barrel. The Cothran Powerhouse Valve shows an increase of almost 25fps/inch...a full 100fps increase over the 20" barrel.  (these numbers are for a .30 44gr JSB pellet, but the effect is seen on the slug guns too)

Without a valve to feed enough air, a longer barrel doesn't see the increase in velocity up to it's capability.

R5m cocking on warp?

Those two guns are very different the R5M and the Warp. The Warp Cobra has long stroke linear light hammer and takes way more cocking force than the edguns rotating hammer / a revolver type hammer inside the gun. All edguns have this except the Leishy. The edguns are nice, but the Warp is
rare and I think extreme in rughness, accuracy, fit, finish, service and tuneability. There are very few over here in Europe. Itís a custom gun!

Tweeter!  Just seen this post and I wanted to share with you my findings. My warp .30 is the one you might be thinking of, I have the 12" barrel making 60fpe shooting the 44.75grains at 780fps. I just purchased a 16" barrel and without changing any settings I went from the 780fps to 810fps and now I'm making 65fpe.  Definitely tell you the 12" barrel is limiting but at the same time very nice because it is shorter.  I thought about turning it down to get better efficiency utilizing the longer barrel but decided to leave it because higher fps is nice. Plus nothing has changed as far as shot count goes so that is nice.  Anyways just wanted to share that with you, food for thought my friend.

Best Regards, Randall
