Frustration pulling valve from Benjamin Franklin

Okay so do I need a cutting torch, hand grenade, or nuclear warhead to remove the valve from an old Benjamin pumper?
I made a tool to remove the valve retainer nut (photo attached). With that out of the way, I made another tool to grab the 9/32"-32 threads of the valve...pulled firmly and it didn't budge. Sprayed it with penetrating oil, gave it a few minutes to wick in and pulled again. Didn't budge. Then clamped it in my vise facing the ceiling and climbed up onto the bench, grabbed the handle and tried to Olympic dead lift it out of there. I'm pretty sure I heard it snicker from down in the hole but my grunting drowned it out so I can't be sure. So I gave it a couple of solid taps with a hammer to help break it free and then repeated the dead lift. Nothing. At this point the valve was so unimpressed with my effort that it couldn't even muster a scoff.
Any tips before I go medieval and render it irreparable?

The lead seal is what's holding you back. Pull & wiggle is all you need. Be careful not to break the threaded stme off the back of the valve.

You didn't mention whether you exhausted your vocabulary yet. That's usually the first thing I would try. Use all the French you know. If that doesn't work there are other, secret remedies.

You could try this method (HoosierDaddy's invention, not mine):

A super easy technique someone else suggested is to give the gun a few pumps, which might blow the valve out (assuming you haven't removed the trigger and opened the front end of the gun yet). Make sure the valve isn't pointed at your privates when you try this.

Scott, thanks I'll try rocking it back and forth to see I can get it to let go.

Randy, thanks for all the pointers. I'll have a look at HoosierDaddy's approach. Regarding pressurizing it to shoot it out, that's a great idea except on this one it seems like the check valve is stuck. The pump linkage builds pressure but it won't go into the valve. I've never seen that before. There's no telling what horrors await inside that valve.

Now that you mention it, I bet that's what I did wrong. My young boys were in the shop with me at the time so I wasn't able to deploy my full toolset.

Somewhere along the way, I acquired an original Benji/Sheridan valve puller tool that has a 3/8" threaded shank with a recessed washer to line up on the tube OD, then a large wing nut to tighten and extract the valve body. This thing works very well. One like it might be made starting with a long socket-head screw drilled & tapped 9/32-32 into the head end...the wing nut is convenient but a hex nut would be usable.

I make my tools with a threaded shank so a wing nut can be used to pull the exhaust body out
I make the tool the same length and have different spacers that locate in the tube rear for different models

I put together this simple slide hammer to aid in the task. The main shaft is 1/2" pipe. The large cylinder is a heavy steel coupling that slides freely on the pipe. A few taps against the cap on the end gets the job done.

Not trying to steal your thunder, Scott! I just know when I post a question I'm always hoping someone will answer soon so I can proceed with the job and not have to wait.
Terry, that's a great idea, too!

Think getting it out is frustrating, wait till you put it back in!!
If you end up needing a new valve body, maybe the threads on the old one are stripped or it is otherwise damaged, contact Rick Wilnecker at Precision Pellet. Or put up a want ad here, I'm sure somebody has an extra.
