Thank you for that. I've been hurtin' all day over it and got squat done. I take a lot of pride in my work, the mechanical abilities for which I've always been convinced can be passed on hereditarily. As a predisposition sort of thing, that is. I am Bavarian German, after all? ha. And being retired, I use the best tools I can afford made for the job. And most of the time, I am as careful as can be. I look back on that scene in the video and just
know
I had a brain fart. As for lubing, well, that can be fixed without too much effort. Now that I've learned some needed shortcuts, etc. But I do have my own way of doing things that work quite well. I just ask questions to fid out how others do it. Then figure out what'll work for me with my hands, etc in their present condition. Gonna be 62 on the 31st, so add tht to the equation.
That said, can we not let this fester between us? I'd like to remain whatever sort of friends we are in this kind of on line stuff. Like the book says, let not the sun go down on thy wrath...

Well, video part 3 of the rebuild is coming along nicely. Been working on finish touch-ups on the stock, bluing, and painting the 3 sleeve parts while waiting for Crosman to send me a few small parts. I find it rather odd that they don't have the part numbers? You have to provide the #'s and part names. They have a flat fee of $4 shipping. The seals, springs, clips and such are dirt cheap from them too. That was nice. Got them in my 'droid's addy list, along with mac1. The one seal he needs for the manual-cocking 760's is still on back-order from the guy he gets the 90 durometer seals from. past the promissed 8-10 weeks. The mac1 guy is bumming big time. Can't blame him. He does some top-notch stuff and I really want that kit for the 760-D variant 8. Got a couple more things to button up and I can put this rifle back together for good soon. Sty tuned...

Here's the third and final video of the Trail NPXL1100 rebuild. I finish assembling it with a couple new parts. I also cleaned it up a bit, besides a new powder coated sleeve and painting the sleeve connectors and new seals. Then fire a few rounds to see how it all works, including lightening the trigger pull. The part of the trigger mechanism that acts as a fulcrum as a sort of squared "U"-shaped spring and pin on it, so that kept a little pull on the trigger when I removed the "V"-shaped spring and the small pin it rides on. Trigger pull is shorter and a bit lighter. But still just a little firm.

And the final video, some pellet tests through the chronograph. The H&N FTT @ 14.66gr, Gamo Hunter @ 15.42gr, and the H&N Hornet @ 16.2gr. Still a little tight from being rebuilt, but it shoots quite well and Ken seems to love it all over again! And isn't that why we do what we do?!

I'm glad you enjoyed them. It is a break barrel, but a Nitro Piston. I like working on airguns, testing them, shooting them. I just wish I was allowed to shoot them in my backyard. Dang Snowflake Village. Need a car to get anywhere to shoot or hunt. And while I'm sure they meant well, some were more than a little harsh. I think I made at least 1 enemy? Feel bad about that. But I can do a good job on something that new costs maybe 40 bucks with some decent hand tools and my Dremel, Dewalt drill/driver set, and the like. And not scratch, etc everything.
Ken did seem to love the rifle when he got it back. Threw a 50mm scope at it and started shooting some pretty good ranges with it. Loved how good it looked cleaned up too. So he is real happy with it so far. My Birthday is this Saturday...love to go huntin' or shootin'...

OORAH! GET SOME!! I sure hope it will be?! I'll be 62, and really want it to mean something. Gotta get all these guns finished and get the rods-n-reals cleaned up.

I guess at our age, it doesn't matter
that
much? Now if I could just get a used pickup and a Crosman model 70 for birthday gifts!?

That would've been nice. Wish my back and hips would've stayed intact to work till
this
march, instead of when I turned 50 and couldn't hardly walk. Would've paid more and could've gotten one paid for.
