Another Synthetic Stock Makeover
« on: February 04, 2018, 12:42:15 PM »
I decided to make my Gamo Accu177 unique, so I went with a green stone finish on it.  I started with a base coat of Rust-oleum Forest Green Camp Spray Paint, then a coat of Rust-oleum Canyon Green Stone Texture Spray Paint and finished it off with 3 coats of Krylon Krystal Clear Matte Spray Paint for a layer of protection.  Another PT original.  Thoughts?

Thanks for the comments!  I have a Synrod stock coming, I think I'll do another Redneck Came job on it!  I was going to just get a Realtree stock for it, but can do it myself for half the cost.

Looks GREAT Paul!

I want to do something to the stocks of the Hatsan Dominator. I have not decided what yet. I am not sure if the soft grip pads are glued on or if I can pry them out like the Gamo ACCU. I suppose I could tape them with painters tape if they won't come off.

Thanks for another great idea!

Kevin,  These actually came off, but I do use the blue painters tape to mask areas I don’t want painted, like the “B” on the butt of the pistol grip on the Benjamin sticks. I start in the middle and work my way out to the edges making sure there is good adhesion, then use an Xacto Knife to trim the excess,  once the paint dries, I use a pick to lift a corner and then carefully peel off the tape.  Be sure to post some pictures when you’re done.
