My rain gutter outflow diffuser block, named, Rainbow Falls. My neighbor was hoarding pieces of granite countertop remnants to use for a patio floor veneer. Then he passed away. So, I asked the estate manager if I might have these piles of granite, as i had a notion for them. He looked at me sort of strangely, and said, Yep, you bet. Take em away. So, i began a month long hard labor effort of wheelbarrow hauling them down from his side of our small valley dell, and then up my side of the canyon, and, a month of 10 hour days later,... Rainbow Falls was no longer just in my mind, it was a reality. Our little canyon is the upper reaches of Rainbow Creek. That, and the myriad of colors of the stone, it is known as Rainbow Falls, both here, and amongst my neighbors.I can't see it from my house, as it is on 'the other side" of a small Lime tree grove, and 90' away from the nearest rain gutter (all underground drain pipe). But, my neighbor can see it from his living room, and he thanks me for upgrading his property value. Thats alright, as he is the best friend and greatest neighbor that you could ever hope for.At any rate,.... Rainbow Falls, flowing.

It is unlined, and in an extremely quick draining soil of decomposed granite, and, native granite rocks (points of earth huge boulders). When the pond gets full, it slowlu outflows though an oak grove, and, a thick layer of oak leaves that are at least a foot thick. you can see this pond overflow flow in dscn6223, where its next stop is flowing into the Rainbow Creek drainage..At any rate,.... Rainbow Falls, flowing. Its going to get a huge workout this week, beginning tonight and tomorrow, when we're expecting 5" of rain, and then, many days if rain to follow.

My 1/24 and 1/18 scale r/c rock crawlers would love playing on that!My yard would be a blast for you and those toys. I've spent the better part of a dozen years dragging hiuge rocks home, and stacking all form of retaining walls, making pathways, creating seating. i love the dry-stack ethic that you see on ancient walls, and that is how I do it.This is a pathway to my high point on the property. We call it, the Wander to Yonder. I've created seating at the top, that overlooks distant hills and canyons.img7235 is the top of the Wander, and is stacked stone seating:
The one and only problem with my range is I look directly into the sun in the morning, I cant really shoot till around 10 am, but I do get some really good sun rises
Here's my SPEW, Brett.
Brett funny you post a pic of one as I was scanning around with the thermal scope the other night and saw my transformer lit up like Vegas from the heat. Should've taken a pic of it. Mike very nice work congrats!
