Fartin around with my CP1

I decided to shoot my CP1, it's only my third or fourth co2 through it so far.  I tried some different pellets to begin with, the H&N's and Beeman's didn't seem to chamber all that great but the Crosman's and JSB's chambered great.  I think it might even be the way the probe engages inside the pellet skirt and actually expands the pellets when chambering with the H&N's and Beemans.  The Crosman's and JSB's have a good sized flat area for the probe to engage for forward pressure only.

nice.. I really like the trigger on mine.I think its better than the plinkster trigger with a shorter throw , giving it a target ( match ) feel ... I actually liked the grip too , until I decided to make the gun into a project. haven't been outside much with mine with the weather , hoping to do groups soon.

The CP2 shoulder stock from Mrodair is excellent for the CP1.
My CP1 is more accurate with its 8 inch barrel than my CP2  with its 8 inch barrel and suppressor.

Wayne, just a couple of suggestions regarding the hard chambering issue.  I experienced the same thing with mine and there were two things at play.  One is the breech opening needs to be chamfered so pellets don’t hang up on the lip.  A 3/8” ball grinder makes quick work of the aluminum, otherwise some creative work with rat tail files or a smaller grinding bit in a Dremel would do the trick.  The other issue was the bolt has a sharp edge where it steps up to the full diameter and it chews up the breech O-ring, which is felt as another source of hard chambering.   That one was easily solved by removing the bolt and loading it in the drill press and softening the sharp edge with fine wet/dry paper and then polishing it up.

Great tips there Jason.  When I've exhausted the co2 cartridge I'll check it out for sure.

The loading cycle is HARSH

There were a couple of things that remedied the harsh loading on mine.  Firstly, the bolt has a sharp edge where it steps up to the full diameter.  That was chewing up the O-ring in the barrel each time a pellet was loaded.  I chucked up the bolt in my drill press and spun it while gently touching the sharp edge with a rubber Dremel polishing wheel.  Just enough to break the sharp edge.  That type of polishing wheel left a cloudy finish so I stepped over to the cloth polishing wheel with a fine polishing compound and put a mirror finish on it.  Then I replaced the O-ring with a 90 durometer Buna-N and I've since put about 1000 pellets through it and the O-ring still looks good.  Mine's a .177 and I didn't have a M1.5x4.5 so I used a -008 with the outside diameter abraded down until it fit neatly into the barrel recess.

The other issue was that wadcutters would hang up when loading...

Wadcutters were hanging at the leading edge of the receiver, which I noticed first while using the single shot tray.  I went ahead and addressed it before I had even tried the magazine.  Once I did try the mag, I did not have to make any mods to it.
 
The way I beveled it was with a small ball-shaped carbide burr.  I think it was a 3/8" diameter (mine is a .177 cal but I suspect a 3/8" ball would work just fine for .22 cal as well).  Just pressed the ball against the receiver opening for the bolt, spun it at slow speed in a handheld drill and it made quick work of the soft aluminum.
