P-rod trigger group on a Disco

Jeff I remember reading about guys modifying a stock hammer for the same results as that fluted hammer on ebay, I'm frugal myself and that's the route that I'd take myself

I do have the tools/machines to handle that bit of work.

I want to give it the Tactical look. I'm just not into the wood thing myself.
When Hatsan makes the tactical stock available here in the U.S. for the Nova?

On the 2240 they're a straight bolt on but with a Disco you need to make a notch in the hammer to clear the breech screw.

Now all I need to do is get the p-rod group then if that's all it takes.

Maybe Bob Stern will chime in cause as smart as that guy is he could probably tell you right off the top of his head exactly what you'd need to do.  I think that Robert that goes in the chatroom quite often has modified a hammer before too.

I'm a Hatsan Guy and bought the disco to have a cheap but nice toy to play with.

Needs to be shaped like the prod hammer no vertical groove in the hammer and needs the notch in the hammer to clear the rear breech screw.

If talking the trigger frame assy (2220-103), price has gone up!  It use to be around $45.   

While I personally have not done it with a disco or maximus tube, I can tell you the hole spacing and sear engagement is the same.  I have seen multiple people do this mod.  The Prod hammer mod to clear the steel breech screw is required, as mentioned.


Way back when I did something similar with a long Prod airtube.  It is around 3" shorter than a disco tube. 



I did end up converting it to a rifle using a Gen 1 Mrod trigger assy.

I believe the 2220-103 grip frame assembly is under $40.   The last one I bought from Crosman was $36.51 - but that was about a year ago.   (plus $4.00 shipping)   Order any parts you may need in the near future also as the parts shipping is a flat rate.

When I had Discos R Us I modified and sold the PRod hammers for the Disco. This gave you a better hammer with the added feature of adjustable stroke for fine tuning. It is much better than modifying a Disco hammer!I also sold the Crosman Challenger Power adjuster which is a drop in Mod also still sold by Discos R Us.

I built a custom based on the disco tube last winter.  If I remember correctly I bought the Prod trigger group and Prod hammer assembly and it bolted right up to the tube and works great!

I will chim in and say I have done it, since the platform for the the discovery is based off of other 22XX airguns they will bolt right up. The only issue you will run into is the hammer sear sits way to low inside the trigger as it is. Only way around it is to get a notched hammer. I suggest heading to Alchemy Airwerks for a hammer, he also does adjustable hammer stroke versions too. For me I used the Prod hammer, but I did have to move the breech screw because with the discos stock location of the breech screw it sits right in front of the hammer. Thats why ALL Disco hammers have a huge cut out on top of them. So if you just so happen to drop a prod hammer into the the disco you will bend, break or worse, so you have 1 of 2 choices. 1st You can use a 1322 upper reciver where the breech screw is forward, if you ever take the breech off and looked there is another hole right in front of the stock location. You can tap the hole so your breech screw is located forward, but you will have to drill into the valve body to make the screw go all the way down or cut the screw down.

2nd choice Use the lower and get a notched hammer which is the easiet thing to do, if the hammer sear doesn't come up far enough take out the spring that pushes up the sear and put something under the spring to raise it up in turn rasing up the hammer sear. The only issue you will run into the hammer sear will ride against the hammer the whole way almost acting like a hammer debouncer, but will wear that out quickly. Don't ask how I know. You can also notch the prod hammer yourself, but they are very hard pieces of metal and unless you have some very good drill bits or a end mill, it will take forever.

So i hate to say any way you look at it, it will take some time to make it work, but thats the choice we all make to have anything custom done, such as me fitting a prod lower with a disco upper. Anything is possible because as Knife has said "Not crazy at all.   It is exactly why we call these guns LEGO ag's. Mix and match is a favorite past time here. LOL!

Best thing to do is see if it works fits up and take your time doing it, last thing ya want is it not working.
