I got it sorted and put back together last night couple more things worth noting...
I took the "crossed recess screw" to the local Hardware store to try and match it up. The original was not 12mm in length, as called out in the diagram, it is 10mm.
The head is a countersunk / button head and while there was nothing like that, I bought a countersunk
and
a button head to try... but the head diameters on both were too large to fit in the recessed hole. I lightly cleaned the threads of the original and re-used it.
I test fit the Hammer pin with two balls, it was high into the cocking lug on the bolt. You could see where it was contacting the threads and almost dragging on the bottom of the bolt, and not much threaded into the hammer (three threads).
I removed one ball and re-test fit. Now the lug screwed about five threads into the hammer and still contacted the cocking lug about 1/2 of it's total length (plenty), was still into the threads past the head of each... So that is where I left it.
Reassembled with a very light touch of silicon grease at the wear points and we are back in business!
All in all, was a pretty easy job. It now cocks and fires again and feels smoother than I remember.

Good to read !
I recycled the screw figured a few burs would help keep it in place.
Just a clean up and proper lube did wonders on mine also.
I then looked at the 4x32 beeman scope I had mounted for testing, and decided I had a Pintny 6-24 x50 scope that would fill out the top of the gun nicely scope with sun shade is almost as long as the gun, but light enough to not be top heavy.
Still have to sight it in today, and do some more crony strings, but I'm thinking I will settle on with 16 gr. pellets.

LOL...
I ran into a scope dilemma. I had swapped the one from the Sentry while it was down... So I mounted a BSA RD30 Red Dot I had laying around unused onto it.
Ya know what? I kinda like it.

Well I got my new pellets in today, I have 28 grain Seneca pellets that fit tight but shoot good, the other ones are 18 grain that shoot even better, at 2200 psi fill they shoot 950 fps. I got this gun to play and learn, the 950 fps 18gr. pellet is with the power setting on 5 full power, at 3000 psi fill it shot 750 fps, of course I want to increase the velocity on the 28 grain pellets, and have been reading about changing the hammer spring, the 28 gr. pellets shot 680 fps what I am looking for is suggestions on what way to go on the hammer spring, lighter or heavier?, I have read about using a 10lb marauder spring, but the article I read also indicated shimming this spring. Guys I'm all ears, I would like to hear your feed back before I venture forward, I have some 28gr .218 diameter conical slugs on order, and I'm thinking I will need to push those faster in order to not just stabilize them but to also get some range out of them before they destabilize. Thanks for bearing with a newbie.

Well I was doing some plinking with the Sentry last night , and after a couple mags of accurate fun, I hear air escaping from the TP. Yup I think I have a poppet leak.
Looks like I have a holiday project ahead of me

I do have a slight bias, but here is what I think of mine
I love the side lever it is really smooth, mags are a bit tight, Mike said sand them down on the back and ensure the barrel isn't sticking out too far, the mags could be better, I would like more shots in one, I did have to sand the edge of the clear face in the hole it was catching the bolt probe oring, filler probe hole seems to catch orings so I just am careful to insert it before attaching hose to it, finish is nice, no tooling marks, I reduced the weight to a bit over 6lbs by removing the forearm, I also removed the silencer, don't do it, you pretty much have to cut it off, but with my shoddy custom shroud it has a nice muffled bark, a bit too much scope on it, Been very accurate, pretty good out to 60yds for cans, leave pesting at 40, mine is a 22, the 25 bolt section is also pictured
If you get a custom tune from Mike on any of his rifles they have life time warranty, and he fully takes apart and inspects and tests every rifle he sells, I recommend the transfer port upgrade he offers on the sentry

Going to tear my 703 down , Definitely sans a Mike tune, it has been referred to as a tinkers gun, lots of potential, but either he or one experienced, or wants to learn PCP repair on a budget it is a good deal. I know it will be worth my time going through the entire gun and smooth things out and might as well open it up while I'm at it.
If I were to charge for my time , I might as well get something tuned from Mike , or JSA

I've been looking at getting my first pcp air gun. I want all of your opinions about this gun. I'm looking for killing power at 100yds with a 25 cal that doesn't break the bank. Could this gun be it? There's not a lot of info out there for it which surprises me.

at 100 yds you might want to get the full power tune with the .25
check out Ozark AirgunHunter vid on sentry accuracy

Killing power at 100 yards?
That is a tall order for ANY airgun.
Not only is the FPE needed but shot placement is critical for a ethical kill.
First what is the Prey, Second can YOU do it?
Don't take that as a slam on your abilities, but there is a small target between the eye and the ear of what ever you are hunting that must be hit... otherwise it will run / fly off to die of the wound the future...
While I love my Sentry (.22) I can't get groups at 100 yards smaller than a paper plate... even bag rested.

Well, I can say powder burners I can shoot. Air guns I'm new to, but wanting to move into slugs with my first pcp. I'm not interested in a FX Impact, but would like reliable, accurate, and the ability to make good energy. I'm confident 100yds is doable with proper shot placement and projectile selection, and gun. I've watched Ozark's videos and it seems like this gun may be good for up to 50. That's an acceptable learning range for me. I guess I'm looking for a unicorn again.
