FX Streamline Magazine Issue and Fix

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! I've been having a few issues with the magazines for my FX Streamline. I noticed when chronoing that the velocity of the first shot out of the mag varied quite a bit from the remaining 10 shots. Also, when firing 10 yd groups (especially with JSB Jumbo Exact 15.9 grains), the first shot was often a flier, landing .25 - .50" away from the rest of the otherwise very tight group. I thought that it might be that the skirt of the first pellet was getting deformed. I loaded several mags then removed and looked at the first pellet and the skirt deformation was pretty minor. I then loaded those pellets elsewhere in the magazine and they fired just fine. I think that the first pellet in the magazine is held differently than the remaining 10. I tried using a small piece of plastic in place of a pellet in the first position and then loaded the rest of the mag. I then removed the plastic piece, put the magazine in the rifle and fired the remaining 10 pellets without the first round flier effect. I've tried this about a dozen times now and it seems to work. I am OK with having only 10 rounds in the magazine - especially if they all fly accurate and true. YMMV Dave

This happens with two different mags. I've tried playing with spring tension, but still get different first shot velocities and sometimes fliers.

Please LMK how your 22s are shooting. I had to send mine back. Leaked and the accuracy was terrible. I now have a 25 cal that is just super in all respects. TNX. Brian
