It is still not legal to hunt deer in GA with an airgun but pigs and yotes are ok and all small game. The area I hunt is a 14,000+ acre WMA about 17 miles north of my home and it is overrun with old logging trails. I like to move constantly (mostly for the exercise) and stalk hunt primarily. I used to do up to 12 miles on a daily hunt with a Hatsan BT65 (12+ lbs) plus a small pack and that was brutal, but I can't carry that much weight more than a couple miles any more and still have fun. The P12 is great on these type hunts (yes I do have a sling on all my rifles) and the Dominator will be even better if I can get the power up to where I want it. have you killed any pigs with a PCP? which one did you use? yes the BT 65 is real heavy

Tom,Austin, said his dominator MKII aka M16A (bottle gun) weighed 6.53lb without LDC, 6.71 with.My dominator aka M16(no bottle) came in at 6.4lb without LDC.These are bare gun weights. You get an instruction manual. VERY basic, tells you how to load/insert the mag. How to use the safety. How to use the fill probe... that's about it.No adjustments of any kind are even mentioned.

With a 15 lb. .257 custom shooting 80 gr hp's at a grand. Since a rather serious back surgery, I'm not allowed to even lift it yet. Grrrrr!!!! Getting bored for sure. But the much less manly Maximus is getting it done with the tree rats and vermin around here just fine! Even though the scope weighs over 2 lbs. and the night light is another lb. Not to mention the bipod. LOL!!!Knife

The thought of a 500$ rifle coming close to my weight amazes me but at the same time I have remained doubtful the weights were accurate knowing the extent of work I did to reduce all the weight on mine.-Matt the obsession with 5-6 lb guns makes me laugh. light guns very hard to hold steady. I am 65 and walk almost all day with over 9lb PB. that is what slings are for. the Romans would march 25 miles a day with more then 40 lbs half of that tent poles etc. then dig trenches around the camp site and build a small city just for overnight. remains of these are still found. civil war guys average weight 140 lbs did the same. man up a little guys walking a couple of 100 yds to shoot a few squirrels then sitting most of the day with a 7- 8lb rifle will not kill you lolThese kind of remarks make me fall out of my seat. I could not for the life of me shoot off hand while shooting standing with the stock marauder at 7.3 lbs / 9.3 lbs scoped, my rifle is now 4.8 lbs / 6.8 scoped and I can shoot within a dime while standing up. The old marauder @ 7.3 lbs stock is purely a bench rest rifle, and is well known by the community as such. You're 65 and speak to others this way? Sigh. I take 5 mile+ hikes through 6-8k elevations in the mountains while carrying tons of gear, every lb I can save only makes the hobby more enjoyable. You're right though, a 7-8 lb (which I have now, scoped) rifle will not kill me, but my old 10 lb rifle did!I for one am glad a lot of the newer air guns coming out are shaving/saving weight! Streamline = 6.3#, Dominator = 6#~, p15 = 4-5#, and many people are jumping at them and a good amount of people do it for the weight! -Matt I knew when I made that remark I would get a pile of guys that walk many miles with heavy gear in their sixties lol. if you can hold a light rifle offhand and shoot it better then a heavier rifle go against everything I have saw and all the offhand Olympic match shooters with 10lb + pellet and 22 rifles. if it was easier to shoot a light rifle offhand I am sure they would be using them

Tom,I haven't seen just how far my .22 can be pushed yet. I was getting over 900fps with 14.3 out of the box. I backed it off to about 800. More back yard friendly, and I don't need a ton of fps for the 25yds or less I shoot at in my back yard...Yes, I've adjusted the reg and had it completely apart since I had an o ring fail already.Several threads you can read thru for pro and cons. I will say mine shoots straight and I like the side lever cocking and mags. I however will not be buying another in .177 like I originally planned...
Wayne,Sounds like a good plan. I'm happy with the way mine is shooting at 20fpe, I just don't need more power right now.The only reason I've opened mine up was I had to...Several leaks and the reg bypassing all the sudden. So far, everything has been an easy fix.No plans to mod mine either. I may get a huma reg at some point, depends on how much trouble the stock reg gives me...

Freedom of speech and all that, but one should NEVER tell someone in the process of healing to expect a negative outcome. Don't think much before you write what is in your head, do you?
Here is a shot string from a 250bar fill, I can see from this latest string that my regulator has definitely done some settling in since the out of the box chrony test.I would have done this string with the pellets that I did my original string with but don't want to use them up. I'm sure that it would have made a little bit of difference in the results.
The only thing that I've done so far is fix things that were out of place in the trigger mechanism. I haven't messed with hammer or regulator adjustments at all.
