I too fell (once and only once) for the Piranha's. I found they were nowhere consistent enough even for plinking. That being said, I do find the CPHP and the CPUM to be very consistent. Alas being in Canada I pay $15 for the CPUM and $13 for the CPHP.

I was surprised my CP-1M was one holing with Benjamin 14gr hp. Ordered some more, hopefully they perform the same. "The Beeman QB Chief is on sale at $280 (normally $312)"Thought I'd mention to a fellow Canadian that the beeman chief is on for $239 on Oshoot.ca. I think it may even be close to the American price with exchange rate adjustment, so pretty good for us lol!
five shots does take me down to about 1750 psi
I am a bit confused by the claims of accuracy there. Hitting water bottles at 50 yards. The Maximus can hit the "bottle tops" at 50 yards with proper pellets. Once you stretch the ranged out a bit, you will quickly find the limit of the Crosman HP's The JSB continue to be accurate all the way to 70-100 yards. Typical groups with the 18 gr. JSB's at 30 yards is under .25". The crosman's will give .75 with frequent flyers. I am not getting flyers with the JSB,s,. 16 or 18 gr. For a bit of fun, (back to childhood with BB Guns), next time you're out, pick up a bag of little army men. Loads of fun at long range. Sorta like field artillery. LOL Knife
I just wanted to report what others probably already have. I've been shooting JSBs out of my Maximus and decided to try the Crosman HP's from Walmart. To my surprise, they seeem to shoot as well or better than the expensive JSB's and for $6.49 per 500, that's really cheap shooting. Granted, that's only one Maximus but if you have one, it might be worth your while to give it a try. We were shooting water bottles consistently at a measured 75 yards and even stretched it out to 100 with almost the same consistency (provided there's no wind). I'm getting 30+ good shots with a Gen2 spring from Discos-r-us. It's not a powerhouse but will solve most pest issues out to 30 yards. Beyond that, I have my .25. I don't have a chronograph so I don't know the exact fps, but it's enough for good accuracy at somewhat extended distances. I really like my Maximus!

LOL KnifeHey Knife, I said bottles consistently at 75 yards, not 50. Also, remember that I put a much weaker spring in it so the grandkids could pull back the bolt. Yeah, the army men thing sounds like fun. Regards.
