I took my Diana 48 out for a few shots at targets. I don't know if it was the weather, the gun or the shooter but we didn't do very well. Maybe tomorrow....

Yesterday at our monthly fun shoot in Cross, S.C.: .177 an .22 Tech Force 99's, Industry Brand .177 B3, .177 Peak B4-2, .177 Diana 350 Pro Compact and a Frankenstein gun Beeman RS2 dual cal. w/ pistol scopes on both barrels and two other silver barrels with flip up open sights mounted on the barrels. Fun stuff.

Today, I started with my peep sighted HW30S on the 25-yard spoons. Love that little girl.

Next, I took the Diana 48 and went after 30-yard paper targets. I know she can put five 8.44 gr. JSB pellets into a single ragged hole because she has done it with me but neither yesterday nor today did that happen. It must be the shooter and/or the weather because all screws are tight.

It was a 66 degree here today. In between our Dr. and Lab appointments, I shot my Diana 48, HW97k. HW50s, Diana 34, and my Beeman R9. I love these frauleins. My HK97K definitely prefers the AA 7.87 pellet 0ver the JSB of the same weight and my Diana 48 prefers 4.53 JSB 8.44 pellets over all others.

Tomorrow is supposed to be good weather. I'll shoot the Kleine frauleins over the same distances and ponder the addition of another HW. I may start the JD lawnmower and do some leaves?

I shot a rat at the neighbors coop with the Wildcat again. It was WET, WET, WET out tonight. Don't know why I ventured over there in the rain but I did. It was peaceful and yielded one dead rat so it's all good! 👍🏼

I spent this afternoon sighting in my .177 peep sighted HW30S at 30 yards. I can now hit my 25 yard spinner spoons without miss.

FX Royale 400 22 cal standing supported (trigger sticks) 40-100 yards at steel eggs, silhouettes, cans and blocks of wood. Man this rifle is amazing!

A bit more plinking with the '77 Crosman 38T today.

No way am I paying $17 a tin for .177 pellets, but if these R10 match pellets go on sale again I'd buy a couple more tons because I have a few low powered guns that love them as well as this 38T.

No money for a new BB gun this Christmas. So I dug out my project guns to play with. I took a hacksaw to my Winchester 1100 and lopped a couple of inches off the barrel then I chopped four more inches off the plastic forend. I recrowned the barrel with a fine stone in my Dremel tool. I need a to find an acorn nut of the right size to lap the crown with but I tried her out when I got done. Accuracy at twenty yards is better so I’m calling this a success!

Next I’m thinking about giving the Air hawk elite II another chance.

So the sun was going down here awhile ago and I wanted to take a "dark" shot into the targets outside the door where the air is below zero and wind and snow are swirling their places all around.

The snow hadn't made ground contact to keep white anywhere but the ones flying around were not helping in the wind but I did it anyway because the scope revealed to me the target area and the paddles and the background despite the darkness falling and that what when I reminded myself of the "aha" moment Hector's own rifle with the same scope felt to me when my eyes looked down his traditions scope (3-10X) which is exceptionally bright and clear for my eyes plagued with floaters. I think others may respect this sort of thing because perceived "brightness" and "clarity" have to work around what physics say is the best optic unless you have the time to hear why it is the best optic for a particular eye.

But different scopes reveal unsettling things, even things not at all related to price or popularity.

So there was the iron circle I was centering on in low light conditions with absolute confidence and shot 2 rounds.
They were hits and I said to my wife coming back in "you know this is the deadliest air rifle in the house you know that right?"

Anyway my pleasure over the D54 .20 H.S. today was nightcapped with the last shots in the not so dark dark but dark enough to accept or deny your scope!

Traditions 3-10X! That's all it is and it is all that's needed on top of this rifle for the WAY it shoots!

It is actually quieter now!

But I never mind the sound of an air rifle anyway.
