1325 Retained-Air Project

Hi Wes, was on CAF today and saw your build... nice job working thru all the details resulting in a great project.

The SSG has much more tuning options available than the SSS. I do have an easier time with the 7/8" tubes because I can use the Challenger hammer - with the stroke adjustment. But still, getting the SSS spring at the right length and spring constant is hit or miss. I have enough patience (and apparently, luck) so I haven't abandoned the SSS (yet).

I shot another string (bottom string) and got just what I was looking for. I want a pistol that uses the efficiency of high pressure air (and large plenum) without all the pumping...

That's great efficiency Gary! I somehow missed that you had a 7/8" tube. That would really give you a good amount of air for each pump. I'll have to look again at your 22 project. It's a great idea you have, in being able to pump less each time because of more volume. I had assumed you were using a stock tube from the pictures.

The 7/8" tube reference I made was a little misleading. I made an edit to it and still didn't get it right, LOL.
That was suppose to be more of a general claim that the SSS is easier to tune with a stroke adjustment (i.e. Challenger) hammer.

The 1322 and 1325 use the regular 3/4" tubes. I haven't seen a stroke adjustment hammer in 3/4"... making one would probably be more work than trying a few extra springs - thanks

OK thanks makes sense. Figured the pictures with American classic on it had to be a 13xx tube. Yeah an adjustable hammer would be great! So by 7/8 you are referring to outside diameter which is 3/4" ID, and and the same with 1322 tube - 3/4" OD, 5/8" ID. I'd always heard them referred by ID which further confused me lol. All good! Thanks for sharing your project. I haven't put my auxiliary tank on my 2200/1322 project yet. If I could get a valve modified like yours maybe I might prefer your system. Even doing as I did with a 12g auxiliary tank it might make more sense to just have less pumps per shot than doing 50 or 75 preliminary pumps.
