Yep, I would think an ice cream binge might have been a better way to get out of whatever funk you were in that day.

Just found the pics on my phone of my 180 and 2280 custom. When I bought the 180 the seller sent me a spare stock that he had received when he bought it. Being the never satisfied tinkerer that I am and the fact that Betty Lou and I like to shoot paired guns I had the idea to build A 2240 carbine in the spare 180 stock. I used a 2260 trigger group and shaped the trigger slot to fit it. The top gun is the original 180 and the bottom is the 2280. They are surprisingly matched in performance.

what if we removed all the warning labels, and let nature take it's course?

I was talking to Rick, at precision, and he has the parts you need.

Yep, placed an order with him two days ago for a co-worker's repair and I forgot to get a part I needed for my 1400. I called him back today and he sent it out. So far he has had everything I have called him for. His knowledge, pricing and shipping is top notch. I plan to do business with him whenever I can in the future. Thanks for the hook up.

Thanks all. I'll contact Rick for the parts. Don't shy away from resealing the 180 yourself. It's very straightforward. Orings only....unless the valve stem is shot. Expect to see these two up for sale on the classifieds page. Karen and I already have a shooting pair. We don't need four.
Those are a beautiful pair of shooters you have there. Nice Mod job on the 2280.

You won't have a problem selling those. So compact and so accurate.

Precision Pellet has the band screw, I picked up one from him, this screw is very easy to break off if you don't deal with it correctly, to remove you are not supposed to unscrew it all the way out , just loosen up just enough to slip the band over the barrel. to install new screw is the opposite, place screw first on the band and then slip the band over the barrel/air tube, there is a sweet spot that stretches the band just perfect for an easy install.
Precision also has the seal kits and aluminum spacers, very easy to reseal except you need the valve removal tool or build your own..
My CR180 has a chromed barrel, it was given to me back in the early 70's, and I can't find any info on a special edition with chromed barrel, Rick at Precision says probably the previous owner had it customized to his liking..

I have never seen one with a chrome barrel either. My valve removal tool is a BIG flat head screwdriver......1/2" head. I know others have made them out of steel tubing cut down to fit in the groove of the valve.
