Where did you get the forearm?

Thanks for the compliment.  I was pleased how it turned out. However it is one of those things where it is never done. I have a couple of things I would like to do yet so I have been searching for the right parts.
I will post a pic when I finish up the "next" stage.

forearm was from a crosman 1389 / 2289 backpacker.
this is what I did with the " muzzle protector "

ordered an AK47 style muzzle brake for a Ruger 10/22 from Custom Gun Services. (oops doesn't look like they are in business anymore)
actually you can get one on amazon too,)



It has a slot for the sight of the 10/22 and it has an I.D. of 5/8"
I went to a hardware store (Lowe's) and bought a nylon spacer 5/8" O.D. 3/8" Thick and drilled it out to 7/16"
also bought two rubber grommets 5/8" O.D. 3/8" I.D. (Its rubber and it will stretch around the barrel and have a nice tight fit.)

I put a grommet on both sides of the nylon spacer, put them on the barrel, and then worked the muzzle over them and worked the whole assembly into place.
Then I drilled a small hole through the set screw hole on the brake into the nylon spacer and screwed in the set screw.
Painted what showed of the spacer with some flat black paint,
Viola! A muzzle brake for $10 and change
