I should have read your post Mike, before cleaning up in the basement. (It's back in the water)
The two 300 Bar cylinders were both down to about 100 Bar.
There was an air-leakage problem at the gasket on the black filter, where the QD screws into the black aluminum filter cap.
I changed the gasket and it still leaked. Used Teflon tape and got one cylinder up to 250 Bar.  It was failing at the end.

I put the old gasket back, removed all traces of Teflon, and decided to drop a small O-ring
into the bottom of the hole, and screw the QD assembly in to compress the O-ring.
My last attempt was successful. No gauge on that tube, but the compressor gauge showed about 270 Bar.

I didn't want to push these up to a full 300 bar, until I can schedule some FT practice. Maybe in the Fall.. 

Can somebody please tell me, should there be an O-ring in the hole, under the QD assembly?

PS:
The second tube filled up pretty fast. Temp peaked at 45C. Both tubes were filled in to short cycles.
The small water bucket with about 1.4 gallons (added a little water-wetter) went from 21.5C to 25.2C (70.7f to 77.36f).
So, using a small 1-gallon bucket should be fine for topping off my rifles..

So topping off the Hatsan AT44-10 (medium length?) should be doable in one or two very short cycles (fill-cool-fill).. 
If I only shoot it down to 2000 PSI, I think filling it to 3000 in one cycle will peak the heat up around 50C.. I hope..

I'm fairly certain the insert atop the water pump is supposed to come out with a gentle tug.  You don't want to constantly pull a tube off a nipple so they make it so that you can simply tug the tube off the pump for any given reason you'd want to.  Would you want to keep pulling the tubes off the nipples on the compressor head often?  Not a good idea, off, on, off, on.  I like the fact that I can pull the tube with insert off.  So long as it's not too loose so as to fall off during operation.  It's pretty snug and I have no fear it'll come unplugged on its own on mine.  I would not have tried to glue it in place, good sir.

Mine was just a little too loose for comfort. Any slight tug on the hose while filling (or the water pressure inside it) might cause the 'insert' to pop out.
Which would cause instant over-heating. If not noticed until 99C, might be problematic..

I never intended to ever be disconnecting the water hoses. But, I was checking out the idea of a safety cover for the water container, with two 1/2" holes in it for the hoses.  So, I was trying to remove the pump hose.

Before I got lazy and used the Super-Glue (which is still holding), I had the idea hanging a small steel ring on the output hose, using a cable tie.
Then use a rubber-band around the pump-body connected to the steel ring, as a hose keeper..
That might make it much harder for the hose to accidentally pop off the pump..

What is the thread size on yongheng fill hose, M10x1?  I was thinking about making all the necessary fill probes ready before the compressor arrives.

I found the fill hose-filter on Ebay.  eBay item number: 322580855430
The text says:

That hose is a bit short.. So far, mine is working okay.. Still not leaking yet. That O-ring is holding.

I was just looking at that Ebay 322580855430 kit and it might be pretty easy to double the length of the Whip
and add one more Black Filter in the middle.. Doubling the filtering..

Yeah Rich, yours was probably a bit looser than mine so I would have addressed it as well.  With mine it's snug enough to pull on the hose and it holds tight enough to lift the pump after it pops the suction cup feet from the bottom of the bucket.  Yours sounds like it would have pulled itself right out.

I finally found some of the correct size filters for the Yong Heng compressor stock filter. I use mine as a pre filter for my Gold filter housing filled with sieve and charcoal. 50 filters for $25 shipped.

I received some sad news in a PM this morning.. Mr. George at Sea Divers is closing up shop in August. Mr. George is in his late 80's and has been diving and teaching all his life. He has been my go to guy for tank inspections and fillings. He's also been a ray of light to spend time with. I looked forward to my 80 mile round trips to see Mr. George when I could or needed to. This is not only sad news because I will miss those hours when he opened the shop at odd hours for me whenever I called and we sat and talked about his experiences, it also leaves me an added incentive to secure a source for HPA.

I use the black filter as a pre filter for my large Gold filter filled with sieve and charcoal. the black filter catches a LOT of moisture that would have went straight into my larger filter... Even with frequent water bleeds. I think it helps and certainly can't hurt using it!

Now, on its own, the black filter is nearly worthless. if its the only thing between your compressor and air tank or gun, you are pumping water into what ever is being filled. Yes, its better than nothing at all but not by enough to make a difference....

As a matter of fact, with Betty Lou's blessing, We arrainged the spare room for a makeshift work space and filling station. The compressor will be in a controlled climate area located at one end of our home near her computer/garden view room. Rambo the Rescue Dog didn't even mind the fact that Mom and Dad will be taking space in his sleeping quarters.

Question for those that have 2 or more hours of run on the yong heng.

When doing water bleeds, do you see any oil in the water?

I'm approaching 4 hours of run. During my last two 30min run sessions, I noticed the water was slightly discolored. I put a paper towel below the water bleed port, it use to be wet but clean. Now, it's obvious some oil is passing thru. It's a tiny amount, I'm not seeing a drop in oil level yet and have no oil leaks. Looking at the oil thru the sight glass it's still clear and clean. I have about 1.5 hours of run since I changed oil.

Compressor is running fine knock on wood...

John my water is slightly discolored as well. I just changed it couple weeks ago and has a slight discolor to it. I don't see any evidence of water in the oil or that my oil level has dropped that I know of but that is me looking at the sight glass

I'm seeing the same as far as oil, I'm not concerned at this point. More curious if others were seeing the same.

Most anything coming from China is "greased" up to avoid "corruption" during the "cruise" to the States. Could be what you're seeing is whatever type domestic animal fat they used to slather on and in it.

I'm going to have to position some paper towels below the two bleed ports.
Since I'm only using the black filter, I'm bleeding often and 'feeling' for water, unsuccessfully.
Tomorrow, I'll see what the paper towel says.

In 1963, I was trained to fill up our Scott-pack bottles at the NOB FD..
Pretty soon, the UDT guys from the EOD shop were bugging me to fill their SCUBA tanks..
I forgot just about everything, but put the bottles in a big bucket of water..

One thing I clearly remember about working in the FD shop, is to never put 2 over-pressure disks in the CO2 pump..
 (And that 15 pound CO2 bottles have a seam that splits when over-filled).. Took out most of the shop windows..

I'm currently using a Tuxing 220v with transformer and function has been fine but I just got shipping confirmation on the Yong Heng that Ken had listed earlier.  Couldn't pass it up for under $300 shipped.  Some oil sheen is noticeable on the cooling water surface with my current set up but it could be just cutting lube from the cooling port drilling and threading as it is very light.

My YH compressor arrived just half an hour ago. Haven't turned it on yet, just quickly checked that nothing is visibly broken, put some thermal goo on the temp probe and filled the gauge.
Instruction manual is in finest Jinglish of course and only helpful piece of information was that the lower pipe is water inlet. The part where the manual tells you to "screw up the screws" was entertaining as well. Only non technical persons are not allowed to arbitrarily disassemble, modify or repair this thing, who might they be? And remember folks "keep this instruction well during the trial period", I can only guess when the trial is over.
