Just got tracking on SynBad. ARRRRR ! He's sailing the big brown ship as we speak. Set out on his crusade to pillage and plunder through the booty of the unsuspecting squirrel nut merchants. Hopefully more head shots than booty.

I like the idea of the Marauder a lot, and some day...

But also checked out Ribbonstone's 2260 and QB78 based Hipacs and they look pretty sleek for carry around in the woods. And maybe a more likely find in the pawn shops...minus the hipac. to get my feet wet in the PCP game.

We got a couple others in the arsenal that we use for shorter range nut busting.
Jasper and Jezabelle. I don't have a picture of Jezabelle here at work but she is Jasper's twin.
They can take care of the close in work while SynBad will scour the horizons.

The seller of SynBad sent me an e-mail earlier which included tracking. Tracking had yet to post at that time because he had just dropped it off. Anticipation led me to check tracking just now.... The gun will be here THURSDAY !!!! That's almost like TOMORROW !!! SynBad must have caught some serious tail wind!! Now I feel bad... we did not discuss shipping and I just shipped my end of the deal regular old shipping. He won't see his until Monday. Should I leave mine boxed and under the bed until Monday?

Interesting that this thread should be here at this particular time.  Armada #1 is in pieces getting ready for custom paint. Armada #2 is not far behind. Helps that I run a body shop.

Ok so, I took my coffee, smokes and the vintage hula hoop benji pistol out on the front deck to pop a few pine cones, sticks and anything else that may have found it's way into the yard. I swear, this is the only reason I was out there. Do Not believe Betty Lou when she says I was out there waiting on the mailman. And guess who shows up?  The mailman.. ain't that a coincidence. What's even more surprising is that fact that he had a large box. WOW !! Talk about being in the right place at the right time..... I mean, I almost missed him, I was just getting ready to go back in and lay down so I could be well rested for the night shift tonight. After avoiding hitting me strolling over to meet him in the driveway he pushes the box out the window to me and says..."Another air gun"? You kidding me? First Betty Lou and now the flippin mailman? Then he says, "I'm sorry, that's all I have for you today". The phrase "don't shoot the messenger" runs through my head but instead of acting on instinct I hit him with one of these....

I don't know your process but Shadow put some clear coating on the finished product that is hard as a rock. I'm sure, beings you have a paint shop, you know all about it.. If not, I'm sure he will share with you.

Oh yeah, some of you might be wondering what was in the box... I know I was.
Well, what was in the box was nothing short of the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my...... Oh, Hi Betty Lou, I was just thinking about you...

This is the first time I've personally seen a Marauder let alone held one. I had no idea they were this big. Somehow I have 1077, Discovery and 2260 in mind... Dudes, this is a gun !!! I didn't even care that a small breeze picked up and carried a wave of packing peanuts across ours and the neighbor's yard. That's right, I opened it right there on the front deck. I just happened to have a pocket knife in my sleeping pants. I've heard stories about bed bugs and I ain't going to bed unprotected.

The guns will have our best automotive products throughout the process. Not like you couldn't damage them but I'm a pretty careful sort. I'm also cheating a little. I bought a Synrod stock so I could transfer the Armada actions into that stock if/when I field carry.

I put the stock back on it that the seller had removed for better/safer shipping and investigated ever square mm of it. I cannot find one mark that is not supposed to be there. From what I can see the original owner got lucky in the QC lottery. And that was at least 2 years and 2 owners ago.
Ken... you did good my friend. I hope you find the same feeling with my end of the trade. Altho, the guns I sent you are definitely "more used".
Next I mounted the CP Adventure Class scope that I just happened to be carrying around with me for the past 2 days just so it would be handy when the gun arrived. And it magically became one with the gun.... just like it grew there..
Now, on to the scuba tank to breathe life into this Ghostly Sailor of the Seven Seas. The seller left 1000 psi in it to keep seals tight and sea water out during it's voyage on the danger riddled high seas known as USPS. First fill... 2500 psi with one eye closed and the other squinting. I've never filled anything past 2k before so 2500 made my knees quiver slightly.
Now the magazine.... first thought.... how in the heck do I put pellets in this thing? I literally had to go look up a youtube video on putting pellets in am MRod mag. All the while fighting the urge to break it because I don't need any stinking instructions, I never read instructions. Well... that was easy enough.
My My My, lookie here, What a convenient place for a shooting bench. I racked the bolt and coaxed a pellet into the barrel with no coaxing at all. I took aim at the 1/2' Walmart yardsale sticker stuck to the high strength sleel blank 35yds downrange and squeezed the trigger. "PFFFTTT GONG" !!! Wait !!! Where was that .22 PB like report? All I heard was a hammer strike and a church bell. Not only that, the pellet hit 2" right and 1.5 inches high of where I pointed it. Just a few clicks of the turrets and 3 shots later and that sticker did and amazing disappearing act. Good thing because the next 3 shots would have destroyed it. Then I heard the worst sound I remember ever hearing in my life...."Hunny, come and eat"!! Funny, I forgot that man needed to eat to survive.
You guys have seen many pictures of a stock MRod... I'm pretty sure you won't mind if I play with this one awhile before I take all that time to turn the camera on and post more.... oh, and Shadow.... don't open the paint cans yet.... this quick once over might take a bit more time than I planned. Maybe even a full 100cf 3300 psi worth.

  Welcome to the world of "Real PCP Rifles" not their weak sisters  Are you sure you are not going to need another fairly powerful good accuracy PCP so Betty Lou doesn't feel cheated. You alread know what happens to your favorite Ag once Betty Lou takes a shine to it. "Just Sayin"

Second mag, 3 pellet and there it was.... The second worse sound I've ever heard in my life... "Let me shoot it once". My chest tightened up and ringing began lowly progressing rapidly until it reached levels to which only canines could hear. I could tell because Rambo jumped from his slumber and headed for the door. And Rambo never jumps up from his slumber unless Betty Lou is in the kitchen and unfortunately this was not the case. She took one shot and I sprung into action like I was on springs. "Is that Mac n Cheese bake I smell burning"? "Look, even Rambo smells it". Now you have no idea how hard it was for me to break the bad news to her when she came back out to inform me that the food was ok and not burning.... Oddly enough, we had run completely out of air in the tank and I just shot the very last pellet on the property. Remember that look I gave the mailman? Yeah, that one... seems Betty Lou has been standing in front of the mirror practicing because she nailed it. Just to console her I lovingly reminded her that her beloved Daisy 880 required only hand pumping and we had plenty of it's favorite pellets. And just as equally affectionately she reminded me that McDonalds was on my way to work.
