I already own guns that do all I intend to do with an air rifle. I have yet to pay more than $250 for any one of them other than the SRod I traded 2 guns for. I keep telling myself.... it's a hobby.

If you, say, take an interest in keeping the local nutria problem in check, you're gonna need a Dominator in .22 to take out the big ones, even Betty Lou's Momma could see that, right? So, no worries, .22 ammo is everywhere, so are the nutria, err, swamp rats, lol, sooo go an' gitcha some!

Jus' sayin', it's onlya hobby if you let it be. You get to decide how much fun you have, and how often, different guns open different doors..

I'm with you Bill, I've not spent over $200 on any of the air guns I have.  But, that M30 might change that trend as long as it's not more than $400!  I did pay $218 for the Benji Tank, and that stung!  I guess I'm just cheap, or frugal....  Nah, I'm cheap!

That's what I'm afraid of!  I mortgaged the Air Tank with SG's 4 Pay!  I don't want to that too often!  I may have to sell everything I have and settle for just one airgun...  Nah, that ain't happening!

I'd like to add an Urban but I think that would be the extent of my PCP collection. Got the vintage covered. Got the springers covered. Got the pumpers covered (except for that SPA). Pistols? yep, got em. And the final C02 is on it's way. Maintaining and keeping them fed should keep my whistle wet.

Of all my guns on my list below, only the HW110 cost more than $500, (and I got it waay under US retail) and only three cost more than $300, one barely, and most cost less than $200, while the bottom four cost less than $150 all together, full retail...

I watch my air gun budget very closely, but I have lotsa people that shoot to equip here, not just one or two, so I buy more than the average bear, that's all..

But this M30 would be for me, all me, all mine. There's a lot of potential in that gun!

It needs to be priced with a very deep discount over the European dealers, or I doubt sales will be brisk enough to sustain interest. Losta folks still think 'cheap' when it comes to Chinese guns.

At $179, a SPA gun is amazing, at $600 or $650, it better be better than a Euro gun, for certain. Otherwise, why buy a Chinese gun for $650 when you coulda had something like an HW110 for a couple hundred more? The more the retail price, the less sense it makes for the buyer to buy a SPA gun.

Unless they start winning shooting competitions, then they'll take off, even the expensive ones.

I can order a .25 Maurader direct from Crosman for $419 shipped on Fridays.  I can get a refurb .25 AT44 QE for $349 direct from Hatsan, so it would be a real stretch for me to pay more than either of those on another .25 AG unless it did dishes and folded clothes too!

What any SPA gun will do that neither the Marauder nor that AT44s can, is be light, what the M16 can do is be as powerful AND light, and regulated. Hard to argue with 46 fpe in such a nice, very point-able carbine, ya know? It's a different thing altogether. The question is, what can it do for me that a .22 varmint can not? If a Varmint can do all you need done, this may be a waste of $500 that could be spent on a compressor, or whatever...

What the M30 can do? Well, that remains to be seen.

I think so, I ordered a .25 today, I believe it will be a great gun for the money, but mostly because it has the power and light weight to outclass more expensive and less expensive options. If this M30 is $650, and doesn't do much more for the average buyer than a Varmint, or a regged Varmint, why pay $400 more just for that neat tube/barrel thingy?

I keep trying to remember how excited I was when I realized I had bought 4 new SPA guns for a little over $500, and I loved them all..

The Dominator better be that much better, and the M30, even that much more better, or the Varmints and CP-series guns will still steal their thunder..

Keep the Dominator series all at or around $500-550, and they are attainable and worth the leap up from the Varmint/Plinkster/CP-series guns..

I just checked my Varmint bolt and it was loose so I put some red loctite on it, that stuff seems to work pretty good I think.  Bill I remember you saying yours was loose and the last time I had checked mine it was tight but not when I checked it today.  I rolled the handle on a table and it didn't look bent at all.

I think so, I ordered a .25 today, I believe it will be a great gun for the money, but mostly because it has the power and light weight to outclass more expensive and less expensive options. Well, first of all if it's a semi-auto that alone will put the gun on a different plain then the basic SPA guns, also I would expect it to be more on the power level of the M-16 then the lower offerings, I can't imagine the M-30 to cost less then the M-16,....but now sure I'm curious to see how this turns out
