New Umarex Gauntlet Regulated PCP Air Rifle Announced

Well that Umarex certainly looks to be some kind of QB platfrom, except for the shroud and repeater breech of course. After all these years of people tuning QBs converted to HPA and geting incredible results for low cost it was a matter of time before a company did this for us. Looks awesome  I wonder if industry brand is the facotry where this are produced...

Also very interesting to see that weight  I guess it is due to the shroud, breech and stock, because a qb79 comes at about 6/7lbs

I'm looking for moderate weight due to the synthetic parts, but one account states 8.2 pounds.   Have to wait for solid information.

The two things that concern me are the weight, and what the trigger is like. I love how my Marauder shoots and the adjustable trigger, but hate hate hate the weight on my bad back.

Good point I love the m-rod trigger, I don't think they mentioned the trigger in the news spot...
and I have to agree on the weight as well I always reach for my lighter guns when I'm going out for a fun hunt or target plinking.
Though if accuracy is their I'll accept the weight.

And barrel designed to work at twist rates for pellets, I wonder if it will be super accurate...

Awesome! $299 for a regulated bottle PCP. Makes a guy wonder what we'll be seeing on the market 5 years from now. I for one can't wait.

I've been hoping Crosman would do a FT rifle now that they are having actual Crosman FT shoots.

Dont get me wrong guys but if you look on the check well, i think the check rest can be raised with that DIALER DISC... If it is the case, it`s a upper market gun destroyer..

What is there not to like at first glance, the weight is the only thing. The tank can be changed out to a 22ci tank for very little money. Not sure if a carbon fiber tank can be used. One would think that accuracy would be good if it can be used for field target. Also the choice of either 177  or 22 is great. I am almost sure that the stock is adjustable for cheek weld. It just makes one think is it technology that makes a more affordable pcp gun?

I'm definitely going to have to check this out at Shot Show. If that dial on the stock raises the top portion of the stock for a perfect cheek weld, that is a great feature.   Looks like this could be an epic gun for my 11yr old.  He hogs my at44 and I never get a turn.

As Tweeter said, it looks like the QB platform with a repeater breech and shroud added.  The trigger group is a dead giveaway and a very good choice as it's an excellent trigger when smoothed out a bit.  And if they use the typical QB barrels, the accuracy potential is very good.  It's about time somebody woke up and commercialized this HPA configuration.

I already have a 22ci tank regulated at 110 bar..  I think it would be just sweet to put it on there.. The shot count would be double..

It sounds pretty chunky at 8.5lbs unscoped, particularly with a synthetic stock.  And 13ci gives a lot of shots as is so personally I would not want a larger tank.

I`m used to DRAG my Benji trail np weighting 10 lbs with scope,, So i dont mind really for the weight..  Just saving the refilling time when doing bench rest shooting all afternoon is a + factor for me...

...I wonder what 10 minutes with a hacksaw would do to the forward third of that bottle shroud...   

If it is the QB platform, might it also be possible to drop it into an existing QB stock, possible with modification for the barrel? 

I suppose somebody will have to be able to touch one to find out...

wonder if it has a fusion barrel?  Those are very accurate guns I've read.

I have considerable experience with Umarex barrels, and can assure you they are accurate. I use the barrels from bigger bore Fusion/XS60 conversions, cut down, in my custom pistols (when LW isn't specified)... and the LW setups are only marginally better (if at all).

My chamber reamers tell me they are VERY consistent bores.

Interesting rifle,i am very courious to see how are made,knowing Umarex,i fear a non tuners friendly constuction,like hard glued valves and so on.Things Umarex does on last 850 airmagnums.
