Trigger Adjustment: Marauder?
«

I shot my new Marauder for the first time yesterday. I was a little ( actually a lot ) disappointed in the trigger. I was expecting a trigger like that of the two 1701Ps I have owned but instead, it felt like a light double action revolver trigger. I guess it is the first stage that is ridiculously heavy.
Before I start turning screws I thought I should ask for suggestions.

the m-rod trigger is better than the p-rod trigger. the first step is remove the lawyer spring or bend it out of connection. if you remove it then place something to shim where it goes over the pin to remove the slack. after removing the lawyer spring try the trigger and make any further adjustments. just for added info, RAW makes an aluminum set back trigger that fits, just need to drill out the hole for the pin to 1/8th.

KJ nailed it. The marauder trigger allows an incredible amount of adjustability. If you're like me and not used to tearing down guns, it might take you a while to get it perfect for you. But the trigger settings out of the box are definitely not what you are stuck with. And the RAW trigger really is the bee's knees, I have one on each of my three Marauders. It not only sets back farther to make for better ergonomics, but it's made of better material. Hint: if you ever ship your barrelled action off for work, the trigger will be the first to go..

^^^^ +2 what they said the set back trigger is an easy upgrade I will only add a gentile polish of all trigger /action parts with 1500 grit on a flat surface and a good dry lube and you will have a whole new trigger

Another thing is for some reason some of these trigger packs are put together wrong from Crosman. I bought a trigger pack to upgrade my 2260 and at first I thought people were out of their minds saying how good these triggers were. Mine was way stiff and even after doing the lawyer spring mod it wasn't all that great. I did some research looking for pictures and found one spring was installed wromg causing it to actually put pressure on the sear as you pulled the trigger. After fixing that it now is a very good and light trigger.
