.25 barrel for 22XX / 13XX?
« on: December 29, 2016, 04:59:10 PM »
Hey Dave,
I saw the listing on your ebay store for a .25 caliber barrel for the 2240 2250 2300 1322 1377 etc. Air Guns
You have it as threaded for your attachments or un-threaded.
Also listed it fits Crosman and your custom breeches. Can you provide any additional information?
What Probe is used? What valve do you recommend? Any required upgrades?

I did see this BEAUTIFUL .25 White Camo 2250 on your website a

You listed some things that might be essential, but I will wait for your feedback.
2260 tube
Boss RP valve and +25% transfer port
Brass extended probe with larger (for .25) o-ring configuration
.25 caliber air stripper with threads removed and grub screw added to bore
18" .25 barrel powder coated to match

I am sure others here are interested and I will pick up another 13XX to start another modding project.
Thanks,
Scott

I use a .22 extended probe with a few wraps of flat waxed dental floss beneath the o-ring to make it seal. Unfortunately there is no 006 1/2 o-ring. ;)
I recommend our Boss RP valve with a +25% transfer port for this project.

Hello Mr. Davio, was curious to know if the .25 cal bull barrel will fit an already existing steel breech. One that came with the custom shop 1300kt. I know the listing on your ebay shop states "perfectly fits", but being my first modding project after months of reading/research, I want to proceed with caution since it can get pricey.

I appreciate your response in advance sir.

Man! Just this weekend I was wondering if I could turn my 1377 pumper into a .25 cal...? This thread should be informational.

That is the understatement of the day!
a 13XX or 22XX is the most expensive $50 pistol you'll ever buy.

Yes, the .25 barrel will fit the 1300KT Crosman Custom Shop breech without modification to either. And if you ordered that 1300KT in .22 caliber, then you will be able to modify that probe with the flat waxed floss as described earlier. The main (only?) possible problem I see with this on a pumper is the fact that the barrel OD (just over .500) will not pass into or through the integral barrel band / lever guide. That plastic part would require modification so that the portion that goes into the tube and locks in with the lever remains intact, but the upper portion that the barrel passes into be eliminated (or bored larger... but good luck with that!). I personally would use one of our breeches that has two grub screws, then allow the barrel to float (as many guns are designed without issue). I would likely grind down that top plastic portion so that the barrel just rests / perches on it. Bottom line, it can be done with no additional expense except the barrel, some waxed floss, and some Dremel time.

I hope this helps. Cool project. Certainly doable.

VERY TRUE! I'll see that and raise you by saying that personally I can't seem to be done with any of these 13xx or 22xx power+trigger pull+ bling projects for myslef until I have at least a couple of hundred in it. But afterwards there is no denying that it is no longer recognizable as a $50 Walmart pellet gun.

This sounds like a great idea, and looks pretty cool from some photos I've seen on the web. However, I am curious to know if the barrel will shift on me or perhaps barrel droop becoming and issue with a longer barrel?

Also, if the barrel band is made of some type of plastic, couldn't I simply roll up some fine sand paper and give it a gentle rub down until the band fits the .25 cal dimensions.

Vinton, when you bought your 1300KT did you get it with a longer barrel than the standard 10"?
If so, You have the Barrel band / end cap to do that with. If not, Dave sells those too... HERE

Dave, seems to me I remember you having a "Rigid 3D" one that was beefier than the Crosman piece above, but I am not finding it now. Do you still sell those?
Maybe there is a market for a 3D printed one to fit this 25 Cal barrel?
