I had already made a new guide for the factory spring prior to the JM replacement. I have to say that the JM SPRING had a better fit for his spring than the factory spring. So very possible the JM fit to your factory guide no tar may be required. Not big fan of the tar but it does it's job on a have to case tune.I put off the JM install due to your thoughts. The gun was so good after a little lube and a few odds and ends that I just could not make myself test the waters of a chance o not being able to get back like it was. But these guns if shoot with the factory spring there is no doubt they should still have the accuracy.Love the captured guide and the fact no trigger brake down required. Really a plug and play spring. replacement. But again a spring compressor is advisable due to more spring exposure and preload for a safety factor. I usual remove all my scopes on much work. Not on this job and still had little elavation change. 💀
The Vortek HW77 25mm kit is a "drop-in" for the LGU and can be used without replacing the Walther "captured" guide.I prefer to make a very small "captured" piece that is flush with the face of the trigger housing just to be sure that the piston latching rod will not touch metal as it is being cocked. You should be able to make the small guide piece without any fancy equipment.....or you can simply cut the factory guide off at the face of the trigger housing and everything will work. The Vortek HW77 25mm bore kit will get you in the 14 to 15 FPE range when installed. The Vortek 25mm piston seal will fit and work fine in the LGU but the original Walther seal is a very good seal and has long life, I am going on the third season of FT shooting with the original Walther seal and I will shoot the next season with it also.I shoot WFTF Field Target which is limited to 12 FPE so I cut 3 coils from the Vortek spring and that drops it 11.4 FPE so I am legal in that class. The LGU is a great rifle, very accurate! ART
Thanks ArtI was pretty sure the 77 kit would work in my LGV but I don't really need the complete kit just the rear guide he uses in the kit. I was hoping to use it with either the stock spring or the JM spring in place of the 77 spring that comes in the kit. I shoot FT with mine also but in Hunter class so I want to up the power to shoot the 10.34s closer to 890 fps than it does now with them at 780 it does now.I would likely make a new piston rod guide to fit in the pocket inside the trigger housing instead of cutting my spring guide off flush with the housing. I like to keep the factory parts as is so if I ever sell it I can put back to stock if the buyer wishes but it likely I will never sell the LGV. I also love my LGV and its far more accurate than I am most days.Mike

And even less with the Vortek HW77 kit or the guide thereof.Your spring may be somewhat tired, as OoB the LGV does a little above 800 fps with the 10.3's:http://www.ctcustomairguns.com/hectors-airgun-blog/the-walther-sport-family Which translates to a little under 15 ft-lbs. To get 18.2 would require a complete redesign of the piston itself. And by then, it may be a rather "unshootable" gun.JMOBut if you really want to explore the possibilities of this platform, drop me a line.Keep well and shoot straight!Héctor
Hi HectorI was not really expecting it to get to the desired 890 with 10.34s but was just hoping it get over the 800 mark and closer to the 820 or 830 mark. The gun is a refurbed from AGD so not sure how much it has been shot before I got it but it is in as new condition appearance wise and I have put about 15 to 200 pellets thru it so I hope the spring is not tired already. Mine is at about 14 ft-lbs depending on the pellet since with JSB 8.44 premium ones in the black box it does 880 and with the everyday 8.44s it does 860 both 4.52mm heads.I would be happy with 15 to 16 ft-lbs out of it but it shoots so good right now really am hesitant to do much to it at this time so just exploring my options now for the future game plan. it has a very nice fast lock time with one solid thump and minimal recoil to the extent that it is a one hole gun off of a bag rest at 35 and under yards. When I am ready to move forward I will contact you. Sorry for not getting back to you early this year on my B40 with the tuning you were going to help me with on it. I had some health issue that came up unexpected and kept me down for a few months. I have not done anything with it since getting the LGV and now a TX as well. Did you ever find a beater B40 to play with and explore its harmonics and potentials. Mike

MikeHello Mike!No worries, mate!Nope, have not gotten a B40 and now I am truly busy anyway.I hope your health issues are getting resolved, nothing is worse than being sick/ill.Anyway, Happy Holidays!Héctor
HectorI have gotten my health back on track now and doing well and feeling good now. If you still are interested in exploring the potentials of the B40 I would be willing to send mine to you to play with for awhile. I have a new compression chamber and a couple different manufactures seals and new cocking arm and shoe to use for replacement parts if needed.Just let me know and in no hurry on it if you are interested.Have a great holidays season as well.Mike

I will then contact you.THANKS a bunch for the offer!Keep well and shoot straight!HM
Nice that the link has parts available. Price not bad. But I just wonder if they are original Walther replacements. Which I thing they are. I still see many options in the states for upgrade springs and more.I book marked it. I have a friend that is tied to BLACKPOOL. Springs and things can be had there. Vmach parts. Maybe Hector is on to something? I had 2 B40 nice guns. Accuracy was side by side with my TX. EVEN did an LW .20 in one. The .20 was accurate but did not put out the power I wanted for a .20. Easy re barrel except for the threaded breach. I went back using the thread that Bam used. It is a real odd ball thread. On another I would go back with a common thread. The barrel once pinned will go no where and a good light press fit with Industrial LT it is in place.
915+fps with the JM spring and slight spacing but over all shot cycle and cocking much improvement. More spacious g can be added but I an sticking with what I have. Accuracy no change. JSB EXACTS 7.8.
