Air Gun Deer Hunters!

I would suggest folks that are truly interested in Air Gun Hunting, in States that consider them firearms if used for hunting, point out to the proper People that Federal Law stated that NO State, County, or Municipality can dream Air Guns as Firearms and further states that the ATF has NO jurisdiction over Air Guns. (which is why it is perfectly legal for us to have LDC's on our Air Guns).

If the ATF can't get around the law, there is no reason or justification that  "ANY"  local or State agency should be able to do so. "Stand up for your rights as an American Citizen"! Don't let local bureaucrats dictate Federal Reg's or Constitutional statutes!  If you do, it's your own fault for letting them get away with it!!!

missed a nice 10 pt this afternoon.Just wasnt meant to happen!Started to take my Recluse with me,wish I had but took my 909s instead.What happen was I had a oring bust in my hose on my shoebox compressor.well,some how it knocked my inline guage off/out of wack.I had filled my gun to what I thought was 3000 psi but actually was 3400 psi.Anyone with a Sam yang knows where this is going.he stepped out at 30 yards and I took a neck shot and the bullet went high and real slow. :-\Too much air pressure and the hammer  will not open the valve much.Had I took my Recluse I wouldve nailed him,I had filled that with my hand pump earlier today with intend of using that but grabbed the 909 at the last sec..Live and you learn.The deer aswell.

Some of you would consider call/decoy to get the deer closer and the shot placement in the fuse box? If you are at a tree, the angle would be favorable.  So, it seems to me, the accomplishment should be just a matter of accuracy and pellet penetration through the forehead bone.

Once it wouldn't be needed a huge loss of blood, maybe you won't need a BIG bore and a SUPER power?

well the way he came in it is bordering 3 other propertys.With a shot in the bread basket he wouldve ran right in a briar patch where my neighbor hunts and I didnt want to be causing a lot of noise and movement around his stand to get him out.Ive made head shots on deer from this stand more times then I can count or....I take the 457 extreme and hit them on the shoulder and drop them on the spot.Normally if the deer is within 30 yards Ill just pop um in the head but any further Ill take a lung/heart shot.Its not lack of power that I take head shots...its keep um from going anywhere and the meat is better without all the adrenaline running threw them.

Arizona is an Airgun friendly state.  Small game and birds, with the exception of turkey which requires shot, is legal for any caliber.  Predators, like fox, coyote, bobcat must be 22 caliber or larger.  Smaller than 30 caliber and you can shoot within a quarter mile of a house without notification of the owner.  For large game such as deer, bear, mountain lion, Javelina, etc.. Must be 35 caliber or larger and PCP.
So the sweet spot for general hunting here is a 25 caliber for small stuff, and 35 caliber or larger for big stuff.  Airguns are not considered firearms in the state, but do not get a separate season like bow hunters and muzzle loaders do.  We must hunt during regular gun season.
