bought a used Bauer Jr II

The saga continues. The Bauer Jr is crated and hard boxed headed, when FedEx picks it up, to the nearest Bauer Facility to me, Fairhope Alabama for rebuild/repair... FINALLY. Even though it is working to a degree, according to Bauer, it is not operating as it should. Turning one on its side long enough to saturate the air filter with oil and having oil running out of the air cleaner cover, according to Bauer is not a good way to treat a HPA compressor, along with the belt shroud being broken. Depending on parts availability, should be back in less than 2 to 3weeks including shipping, if FedEx can get it there with additional damage. I crated it this time much better than the pallet was I received it on.

I wouldn't consider a shoebox an option if already I had ordered a real compressor. And for shoebox price range I would try the altaros new booster compressor.

Especially a Altaros over a Shoebox for one specific reason, my 40 year old shop compressor decided the rust inside the tank was thin enough now to blow a hole in it. I had a place welded by a neighbor that is a professional welder a couple years back. He told me then it was doomed. Well, my old compressor output was 7.7 cfm @ 90psi, it ran all my air tools without having to wait on it to catch up. In the last 40 years, seems the output standard on compressors has changed. You no longer can buy a "portable" compressor like my old one that puts out over 5.7 cfm, therefore, I had to find a larger one. Luckily Tractor Supply had a good one on sale for a excellent price, 60 gal tank, 3.75 hp 220v with 11.7 cfm @ 90 psi output, 155 psi cut off pressure. So if the Bauer ended up being returned to the dealer for a refund, the Altaros would definitely be an option. At least the old shop compressor lasted 40+ years, now if the new shop compress or will last even 20 years, I doubt I will be using it by then..lol But now with the Bauer Jr heading to a Bauer Dealer for rebuild/repair hopefully this mess is about over.

Oh this isn't Bauer, this is all FedEx, damaged in shipping. I won't say any more because it was just picked up, there will be more damage by the time it travels that 200 miles after what I just saw. Don't ask... smh

No idea. I was told to ship it with the oil left in it.  It is going to an Authorized Bauer Dealer/Repair Center in Fairhope Al, just north of Mobile. I am sure they ship them every day. It is out of my hands, but I do agree.
