Well, just got these beauties the other day. The older one (on top) pumps and shoots, but without much force. The bottom one pumped and shoot, but was averaging 570. So took it apart and decided to give it a go. This was be my first 2100 rebuild. After, having it a few days it would hold the air. I would do the half cock method and fire and count how many puffs I would get and it was always 3. So I felt the guts where good, but the pump cup wasn't working the best. So after the clean up, plumbers tape, factory TP seal and decided to try an oring sleeved on the TP section on breech, and some trigger work. With the same method, as above, I get 5 good puffs and a faint 6th. So let me know if these numbers are good? Like I said this is my first 2100. The bottom "newer" 2100 in the pic
Believed these are maxed 10 pumps so with RWS Basic 7.0gr and some oil:

My Steroided 342 is on it's way back from Timmy Mac after a recrowning. I'm going to try to chrony my Steroided 'Dan later today. Chest, shoulders & arms day!

great job Rob,  those numbers look exactly right.  I found where Tom Gaylord tested a 2100 and he was getting an ave of 745 with 7.3 gr pellets.

and about your serial number - April 06.  All crosman guns after 1975 got a 9 digit serial number, and the first three (or sometimes 4) digits represent the date.  Just like your 392P. 

another comment, after reading the blog entry I posted above.  The barrel coming loose from the receiver is exactly the same thing that happened to my 2200 in 1990.  that was the shortest lived gun I ever owned.  I tried to fix it but never could, so it went in the trash.  must be something to watch out for.

I had seen that, so that was my base number. At the same time I knew the 2100B was the newer ones being made. So I thought maybe that's where the difference was in the FPS. Going by the logic older is better. So I guess I'm getting a little increase from the plumbers tape at breech seal. The main pick up I'd guess is from the oring I added to the breech's TP tube. I tried several different heights for poly tube. It just didn't fitting snug in the cut out at the air tube heading to the valve. Nor did it sleeve around the breech's TP. I tried the TP from my Sears model 1400 it fit tight inside the air tube but the smaller side didn't sleeve to breech's TP. So I dropped the factory black seal back into the air tube and sleeved a oring on the breech's TP tube. I'll get the dimensions for the oring I used so people can try it themselves.

Finally, got around to fixing up this slim stocked 140. When it arrived it wasn't holding and found the valve spring was rusted out. There was a lot of corrosion inside. Metal was surprisingly in good condition, which is surprising. Replaced all rubbers, the valve spring, replacing the quad seal, and swapping out the TP. Had to adjust the piston length as the nut was loose upon disassembly. Ported the bolts holes. She is shooting hot!!
 I know the 140/1400 are 10 pump guns, but 8 was more than enough. This time around I did 2 groups the one at 8 pumps and the other at 6 pumps. I used CPUM for the chrony.

   Well, today will be something out of the norm. So far everything has been pump rifles. So to spice things up I'd like to add my Huntington Beach Beeman R7. I had another awhile back, it was immaculate and being that I'm not a springer. I felt someone else would appreciate it more. Shortly after I sold it I missed it. This rifle I got locally from a firearm shooter. He didn't use it much had a few scuffs, but blueing good and wood too. This rifle came with the universal muzzle brake, Bushnell trophy scope, and iron sights.
   Here is the numbers on her using its favorite pellet the cheap Gamo Super Points 7.87gr. So let me know any of you R7 owners how my numbers are looking for my R7.

Wow surprised to see those numbers out of the 2100.  I've always seen closer to 650.

Hey one thing you might consider doing with all this testing, if you're trying to do a service for air gunners everywhere...

Test the velocity at 25 yards versus at the muzzle then use ChairGun to calculate the BC.  I'm sure a lot of people would love to know the BC of various pellets out of various guns. Just an idea.

I loved to have a secured area for testing at 25 yards. Most I have is around 15 yards. Just getting various numbers up. I know I look around to see FPS numbers on anything I haven't resealed before to get a comparison. Until I can secure a longer private area to shoot I'll have to settle for this. I'd love to have 25, but id settle for 20 too lol.

1999 Sheridan C9A. Had a slow leak when I go it. It was in very good condition looks to have been used when it was first got and then left in a corner forgotten. It got a silver end cap, not sure why? Did a few little things but didn't need much. She's shooting pretty good. 14.3gr @ 5 and 10 pumps.

Yea, it's a very nice end cap. Been debating on taking it off and putting it on one of the Silvers. I noticed your forestock is slightly different than mine. Same as the brass C9A is different than both ours. It's also super slender, like a original Sheridan. I'll have to get measurements of thickness on it, but you can see the cut difference on the front.

Great job on the sheridan Rob!  sounds like its shooting good. 

on the nickel end cap - that's normal.  Starting in 1991, all C9s got the polished nickel end cap - silver streaks and blue streaks alike.  They kept the silver end cap until sometime between 2000 and 2002.  I've seen 2000's with the silver end cap, but the 2002's I've seen have the flat black benjamin end cap.  So the change must have occurred in either 2001 or 2002.  Before that time, the only Sheridan's that got a black end cap were the polished brass anniversary model in 1998 - they got a black end cap (but round, not flat like the benjamin) to off set the brass. 

and about the forestock - in 1991 they went with the "pregnant guppy" style forend when they switched from the C to the C9.  It was nice and smooth and rounded/beveled on both ends.  Over time it may have gotten a little chunkier, but stayed pretty much the same through 1999.  However, in 2000, they changed to the more blocky style that your brass C9A has.  At that time(2000), all of the benjamins and sheridan's got that same full length blocky forend.  Then in around 2003 they lost the white line spacer in the stock, and then in 2005, they switched to the current stock style with the angle cut stocks and the raised cheekpiece.
