Fury ll Blackout loose barrel?

Hi all, when I cock my Fury then bring the barrel half way up to load the pellet the barrel slides back down to the fully cocked position . My Benji Trail NP barrel will sit snugly at the half way point for pellet loading. The Fury is still accurate but I'm wondering if it is best practice to tighten the jaws and how do I do it. I cocked a Diana 31 the other day the breech was so tight in the jaws it was almost gauling.
Replies appreciated.

Mark, you're going to get replies both ways on this one. In the end it's probably personal preference and experience. I feel a barrel should be tight enough to have no side to side play when cocked but no tighter. With the factory plastic or nylon pivot bearings this usually means the barrel will stay wherever you put it after cocking.
I replaced the original plastic bearings with hand fitted bronze thrust washers. I adjust these to the point where the barrel won't quite stay where you put it. It is tight enough to have no play but no tighter. Too much pressure causes the bronze to migrate over time, thinning the bearings. This requires additional tightening of the screw. Eventually it will bottom out and can go no tighter. At that point new bearings are required. I go a bit loose so they'll last as long as possible.

Thomas, thanks for your reply. I've had the Fury out today and accuracy is still bang on and she loves the Crosman Premier Heavies 10.5. There is no side to side play at all and I do lube the jaws and pivot bolt quite often with Ballistol so I imagine this is making the breach block slippery to a degree. If the accuracy goes out the window I'll have another look but I'll leave it alone for the minute. I think the gun has done less than 200 rounds so far and I bought it with about 80 shots through it. I had my local AG smith apply some goo to the spring as it felt a little crunchy, and have to say it is an awesome shooter. I only paid $170 Kiwi for it and bought it as a bad weather field gun but it is so good now I really look after it and am now looking for a good NP Blackout to come up. I think alot of people see them as just a cheapy and don't realise how good they are.
Cheers
Mark.
