Yeah, couldn't afford the new tank either. That's why I asked..

I priced the setup at around $200 including fittings and gauge with a half-life tank.

How much of a discount you reckon we could get off that?

What size did you price and what age tank?

It was a 2008, 4500 PSI, carbon wrapped SCBA tank, commonly called a "45 minute tank". It's around $138 on eBay.

Donny, Jesse and I are working on a deal to purchase my Condor, and I am leaning toward a .25 Bullboss to replace the Condor. I would love your thoughts on getting the Bullboss to shoot 31 gn Cudas at about 910 fps which is about 57 fpe. I saw your correspondence with Baxter Walton, should be great information coming on the Bullboss between the two of you.

I think the gun is certainly capable of it with a little bit "adjustment". The bigger thing will be if it likes the 31 grain cudas in the accuracy department. I see no reason why it wouldn't though. That also depends on which 31 grain ones you're speaking of. You are right watching Baxter's thread! It will be a great exercise in what that gun can do in .25, and he knows his stuff. I don't know how many shots you'd get sending those 31 grain pellets at 910 fps though. Hopefully, he will provides some insight into that department. I'm guessing you're planning on using that on critters of some sort? Chipmunks or sparrows I'd guess,lol!

Thanks Donny, the real drive behind shooting the Baracuda 31 gn pellets is that I have a boat load of them and the bcc is very good. I also have some 31 gn slugs to try with even greater bcc. JSB 25 gn would be the fall back pellet of choice and yes I would probably get more shots. I might have to work up a pellet trade or sale to fund those.

If you have a ton of those, then you should definitely give them a go when you get the gun. I would try as many different pellets as I could, before I settled on which ones to stockpile. I'm not a good one to talk about stockpiling though, you saw how many different pellets I was playing with, ha. I know a lot of the other guys in this bunch have more experience on what pellets have worked for them in .25. The JSBs seem to be universally liked, but I've always had good luck with H&N stuff too. JSB also has the 34 grain, and the Benjamin domes are 27.8, and of course the Cuda Hunter and Hunter Extremes look like they'd do some damage. Decisions, decisions....

Steve what is the make of the slugs? I tried a few slugs in my Sumatra but could never find any that performed as well as the 43 gr Eujin pellets.

I have off on Thursday and am going to call all the vinders I can find for the tanks and all the stuff to make the fill station. Hopefully I can get us some good prices, or at the vary lest devide the shipping up.
I can't wait to see how a .25 bull boss dose at that power

Jesse, I wish that whole tank filling thing was relevant to me, but I'm still a pumper for a while. I'm not above "stealing" air when I shoot with people that do have tanks though, haha.

I would assume the .25 Bullboss should have about the same capability as an AT-44 Long in .25 does. Norman can tell you all about what the AT-44 in .25 is capable of. I know in terms of max power they are capable of 70+fpe with a little work. Max power is kinda useless, if you want any kind of decent shot count. It seems like I remember rsterne(Bob) getting around 20 shots in the 55ish fpe range?

Just spoke with my cousin over in the Cumming area (a relatively new PCP owner) and he would like a tank if we can keep costs for the tank + fill equipment under $200 or so. Do we want to try to get the 410 cu in (45 min) tanks or the 550 cu in tanks? Does anyone care?

Also, shouldn't we break out this group tank buy as a separate thread under Georgia Fun Shooting Events? Someone else might see it and want to join in.

Norman the slugs I have are 32 gn WICKED MONSTER HOLLOW POINTS. The Condor seemed to like them better than the Eujins, but of course that doesn't mean other guns will behave the same. I only have about 90 or so of them left so not a big deal if they don't perform as well in other guns. My Baracuda stockpile still sits at four unopened tins so hope they continue to perform. I also have a couple tins of Crosman 27.8 gn and a few JSB 25 gn, so I can search for "that" pellet.

I'm 3 days away from being unemployed so I shouldn't commit to a tank right now, even though lots of shooting would probably be excellent therapy!

But I'd need to find a cool, indoor place to shoot I guess.

If I know how to play a guitar, you can bet I would have picked one up from you. I bought one with an amp from Costco, telling myself that I would learn but all it does is collecting dus at the corner of the room.

Back up to Jesse's today for a transaction and some shooting fun. Jesse is now the new owner my .25 Airforce Condor, and I have a new .25 Bullboss on the way!!!

10 seconds after the transaction was completed Jesse was tearing down the Condor for a new scope, bipod, and tophat adjustment, while I loaded up the Hatsan 125 breakbarrel for some down range shooting. After zeroing the scope on the Hatsan, I took aim at the largest ( I think 3 inch) target at 100 yards and low and behold, nailed it. We decided it didn't happen if I could not duplicate it so another shot, another "ping", the 125 was dead on...

The P12 didn't let me down today either finally getting it to consistantly "ping" the 150 yard targets.

Jesse had the Condor shooting well but the tophat didn't seem to want to stay tight. I suspect there are several mods coming for that one, including a TT tophat...

It was a great afternoon, thanks again for the hospitality Jesse.

It sounds like you both are winners on that transaction. I'm sure you'll enjoy that Bullboss, and Jesse already knows the Condor is a beast. Are you going to jump right into modding the Bullboss, or see if you like it as is? There should be some good info coming from the thread that Baxter started, if he'll stop hunting long enough to add more info,lol! Of course, I'd be happy to answer any questions I can.
