I can't believe the maximus has been released for about 10 days now and I can't find any reviews anywhere. If I didn't have a grippy wife I would have one by now, but I do and I don't have one yet but I am working on it. I have several question I need answered. Help can I have it sent to your house? What no takers.

I have stuff sent to the local UPS location! My wife will ask "when did you get that one honey?" My reply is usually "oh, that one, I've had that for awhile!" She doesn't venture into my gear room so to her its just one of many!

There is a review in the bargain gate, looks like the rifle has some issues.

Jason I like using UPS, they will put deliveries on "will call" and hold it for me to pick up, but seems not many company will use them for what ever reason. Everyone wants to use FEDEX, (which I dislike) or USPS (which are not very cooperative) will leave packages anywhere, and if I can't get them within 30 min of being delivered, the package won't be there when I get home, after all Meth heads have to have a way to fund their habits

I agree! Midway USA uses UPS and I never have an issue having it sent to the local UPS center! Amazon and Pyramyd tend to use FedEx and USPS a lot...

I like FedEx best.

I have had deliveries scheduled for Monday and they got delivered on Saturday.

UPS NEVER does that for me. If there is damage the driver always reports it so if there is a claim it is easily handled. FedEx seems to take care of my shipments much better than UPS. I have never had to make a claim with FedEx, but my claim I had with UPS was a 3 month nightmare.

Since it's basically a "Synthetic Stock Discovery" with a slightly longer barrel, some folks don't think it's worth reporting on.

Sooner or later one of the owners will post a full shot string, which would let me at least put some thoughts to rest.

Pretty much a Disco in a new stock (which does have better visual lines) and a simpler front sight (which most of us remove to put an LDC on anyway). But I want to know if they wound up the power to the point were the shot count is really short or not.

Am thinking they did...giving a few really hot-rod shots and a decline in speed pretty quickly.

Well I got my Maximus a few days ago and finally had time to set up the chrony and test this thing out. I was not very impressed with the gun but for the price it is OK. It is very light weight and should make a great hunter. It is nothing I like and it will be in the Classified Gate before long. The only holdup is getting some pictures. The hammer spring is VERY short and has a heavy wire making cocking a little on the hard side. The trigger is OK, about the same as a Disco.

Accuracy at 30 yards was very good. I got one ragged hole with 24 shots all within a 1/2". It is loud and I did need to use a TKO to keep it neighbor friendly.

So here is the string I got with a fill of 2000 PSI down to 1300 PSI using JSB 14.35 gr pellets. If I was keeping it I would mod the valve retaining screws to 10-32 for a 3000 PSI fill

Considering how high they cranked some of the current .22 Dicos, that's a more balanced shot count than I feared. Guess I was thinking that because they called it the "Maximus" that they cranked it up to power without shot count.

For 200bux it looks like the perfect truck/porch/barn gun. Shoot the heck out of it and don't worry about nicking/scratching it.

I haven't run it through the chrony yet but on a 2000 psi fill I'm getting 20 good hunting shots and ragged hole groups with several different pellets. Shots 21-25 start to show POI drop. I'm very happy with the rifle, can't wait to take it hunting. Extremely light with plenty of power and very accurate.... I love it.

I have to ask, of any of the maximus owners, how hard is it to load a pellet?

I have to fight to cock my bolt and then i have to hit my bolt handle very hard to get it to chamber any pellets.

Also, if you dont mind, could you take a picture of your loading port with your bolt fully cocked?
