I didn't even think to take a picture, until later, and I had already fed the turtles by that time.  "Fed the turtles" means thrown them in the lake, fyi, and the turtles do in fact eat them   I did think to take a picture of another very special pest removal though.  I have chipmunks tunneling under my drive way, but I can rarely get a safe shot, since it would be pointed at my neighbor's house.  Well, I went primitive on one, and used the oldest "air gun" in my inventory!  The first shot slowed him down, and the second finished the job, and left him dangling on his would be escape route.  Little Bas#^%ds!  I know it looks brutal, but my home is more important than a striped rat

Here are the steps to re-finish the stock:

1) Remove old finish with stripper or start sanding with 100 grit paper (May need to use 80 in a few places).
2) Go to 150, 220, 320,500 and steel wool or fine 3M pad.
3) Stain with a combination (50/50 mix) of Minwax gunstock and Dark Walnut.  If you want more orange coloring, use more Gunstock, more DW gives you darker brown.
4) Put on 1 to 2 coats or stain depending on darkness of color desired.  Steel wool (00000) between coats.
5) Give at at least 15 coats of Tru-Oil or until grain is filled.  Sand down every two coats of Tru-oil (steel wool or 3M pad).
6) Let final coat cure for a few days to a week.  Buff out with Mothers Mag Polish (auto store) and wax if desired.

Yeah, those good deals tend to not last. Like Norman said, AA is not moderated but you can still get some good deals if you know what to look for and the right questions to ask. What I would do is find something closer then go in person. If you don't want that hassles then check with TopGun like Jesse recommends, or AoA used section.

I'm positive not everyone has this but my first PCP purchase was used and a major headache. One thing you need to figure out is how much do you want to be responsible for in getting your gun to work its best? I'm not sure, new, if you can buy a 'plug-n-play' gun for under $1000. That's one reason some guns cost more; they're tops out of the box. If you can find like a one owner used gun that's already been tweaked then that's a great score.

This brief review will cover the Brocock Compatto in 0.22 caliber – US version
I recently purchased the Compatto in 0.22 caliber from Penchetta and have had a chance to both shoot groups with it as well as hunt with it.

Quick verdict: it’s a keeper.

Pros: compact, quiet (comparable to an Air Arms S500/510 at medium power), well balanced, light, 10 shot rotary magazine, relatively easy to fill by hand pump, looks good, smooth cocking, included removable Huggett moderator with 1/2 UNF threading, price for features, very very accurate, Lothar Walther barrel, two-stage adjustable trigger.

Cons: smallish air tank with modest shot count (30 shots/3 magazines) in 0.22, about 15 shots per fill in 0.25 cal (per owner at Penchetta who I bought the gun from), small gap between stock and air cylinder on either side, no wood stock option

First, let me begin by saying that I’ve been an airgun addict for two years now, having amassed a decent collection of airguns over this time: Air Arms S500’s, BSA R10 MK 2, Airforce Talon SS, Marauder Rifle and Pistol, as well as various multipumps. My main goal with air rifles is to hunt vermin and occasionally plink. I don’t tinker or take apart my guns except to clean them and occasionally adjust the trigger if needed. Otherwise I shoot my guns stock with the occasional moderator attached.

Out of the box, the gun comes with one 10-shot magazine, the proprietary fill probe, the gun, a basic manual with an exploded view of the gun itself, the threaded cap to the barrel shroud, and the Huggett moderator already attached but not permanently affixed. The stock is very sturdy yet light. There is a pre-drilled sling stud mount at the rear of the stock and a Picatinny/weaver rail at the front of the stock where you can attach accessories. Of note, the gun stock is attached to the action of the gun by a hex bolt running in the pistol grip of the gun. There is a bit of play in the plastic stock by the Picatinny rail where it meets the air cylinder – roughly about 1-2mm on either side, which some may see as “poor design” or “shoddy craftsmanship”, but it does not cause any impact in accuracy or how it handles. I suspect this can be remedied with a bit of black felt from a craft store and placed in that gap if it really bothers people.

Pumping up by hand to 200 bar was not difficult at all, comparable to the effort I have to put in to pump my Marauder pistol. It takes about 3 pumps per shot, so roughly 90 pumps if you’ll be shooting 3 mags, or 30 shots between fills. I suspect the quick fill time and ease of pumping is due to the smaller air cylinder in the gun.

I paired my gun up with a Hawke 3-9×40 AO mil-dot scope and medium rings. I sighted the gun in at 32 yards with JSB 15.9g pellets after running some dry patches through the barrel. I was consistently getting sub-dime sized 5 shot groups at 32 yards with ease off a Primos tripod shooting stick and seated (no bench rest). I adjusted the trigger for a short first stage and a light second stage pull. I can get about 3 magazines out of the gun before I need to top it off shooting at max power. The pressure gauge on the gun runs down into the yellow zone after the third mag is complete. I have not run it through the chrony yet due to time constraints but will do so shortly.

As far as comparisons, I’d say this gun is a beefed up version of my Marauder pistol, which I love. It’s twice as good in virtually everything it does, for over twice the price. It’s quieter (very back yard friendly), puts out over twice as much energy in the same caliber, very compact, light, and easy to carry in the field, has a very similar trigger feel but with a wider blade, and much much more accurate.

Philosophy of Use: this gun caters to the shooter looking for a powerful, quiet, compact, semi-bullpup rifle from a reputable British manufacturer that is easier on the wallet than most bullpups today. It’s ideal for small game hunting and even target shooting due to its inherent accuracy. This may be the gun you grab first when heading outside due to its lightweight design and easy maneuverability in tight spaces.

I like Jim and he's very knowledgeable but his video editing style drives me crazy. The way he constantly just cuts and fades in the MIDDLE of a word makes me nuts.

Glen , I posted your results about the Gladius venting air on Facebook . This is what Cecil Bay replied

 "Just saw this, the .25 will use more air, the power adjuster does not vent air it restricts the transfer port. Your friend may want to adjust the hammer spring tention, it may be to heavy and is holding the valve open to long."

Just so I make sure I'm understanding this correctly, you guys are saying the Gladius uses as much air on lower power settings?  That would defeat the purpose of power settings to me.  I mean, if you're going to use the same amount of air regardless of power, then why even change the power?  A possible solution is to rig a way to make the hammer spring easily adjusted without tools, and then I'm sure you could reap the benefit or less power, right? 

Glen, if you can ever get your hands on another cylinder, I would be glad to mod the valve for ya and see if we can get that shot count and fps up some.  Of course, I'd need to look at your gun to make sure on port alignment.  This also assuming the port setup is similar to the AT44s.  I've got the valve mod down pat, since I've done it on both of my cylinders, and the results are pretty darned good.  If I remember correctly, the Gladius uses the AT44 type valve setup.
