My QB78 22 cal Woods Gun is Really Getting There !

Well, she is looking pretty good and shooting even better. She is launching Exact Heavies about 850fps ..... I can't complain about that. Jumbos are heading out at about 875 last I checked and CPHP's are screaming in the 900's ... that is to fast as they have lousy BC and I'm MUCH better off using a better pellet for this gun. This gun is not a plinker so she will get a diet of Jumbos and Heavies !

Oh Ya ... that is the reason I have an reverse tank and the reason it is tied down like it is ... the tank does not move and the ONLY way for something to happen would be a very hard blow to break the stock as it is tied on using paracord through the stock and tied using the stock bolt at the bottom.. The fittings are all very tight and close to the gun also, I tried my best to make it compact without stuff hanging out.

When you see it in real life it looks like a special projects gun, and it is different. Folks I have showed it to, and after showing what the gun looked like new are stunned ..... but for you guys, this is everyday :-  )

I'm pretty proud of all three of my "Woods Guns" as they started out as $105 CO2 guns and ended up very serious 60yrd hunting tools for a fraction of the price of many of the name brand guns. Each one is a little different and has a slightly different purpose ...The 177 is a pest bird gun as it is fast (885fps) with heavy 10.5gr pellets. The QB79 is my sit on the truck tailgate plinker and varmint gun. She is shooting Exact Jumbos at ~840fps. My QB78 22 is the fastest hunter of the three, shooting Exact Heavies at 850FPS and hits em hard (18+fpe at 60 yds). For me these guns are set up exactly where I want them to be. There will be a .30 cal cal down the road .... I can feel it coming ;-  )

I will be pinning the tank blocks on all my QB's, just in case they are dropped .  However, that's still no Guarantee .  Wll, your shooter looks like something "Mr. Freeze" would carry around, but in Black.

On a serious note, I am working on another paracord holding method,  this time by drilling through the stock, I have to really analyze it. Every clamp or other method came out very cluttered  and it would not hold as well as the paracord method I use.

You think you will use a QB for the basis of your .30?? After I finish my current QB project, I’ll have my extra inverted tank 78 with the crooked barrel I could convert. Wonder how many shots you would get?

Yes for sure, may have Troy Manny do it, but not sure. I will see what if takes.. I will need a special breech and bolt for sure and barrel. I would like to put it together my self, but it may require special treatment.

I do want 750+fps for sure... not sure of how many shots you can get... very important to me. 15-20ea 750+fps shots would be great... I want to use a  22ci tank, but Manny may have other plans. I don't know if 20 shots is possible at over 50fpe, and I don't know of anyone who has put one of these together ?

A .25 cal I can get a barrel and have parts and put it together myself (a big plus for me). What ever I decide to do, this gun will be set up for predator hunting and maybe hog if I get in the right spot and range is under 20 yds. I will make this gun a very doable hunting machine for sure.

I very much like .30 cal over something heavier as number of shots is important. Lots of folks like 357 but I don't want 6 to 8 shots, if I can even get that in that caliber. Time will tell, this is not something I'm rushing into for sure !
