Just thought I would share my most recent restoration. Its a second version Crosman 1400. I resealed with Mac1 components, refinished the stock, shortened the pump handle by 1 inch, added a white lined ventilated butt pad, drilled and tapped for a Williams peep sight, added a fiber optic front ramp sight, tuned the trigger removing all the long creep and shortened the spring for a lighter crisp break. Its shooting 560 fps on five pumps and 670 on eight pumps. I have a new aluminum safety and aluminum barrel spacer on it as well. I sanded and polished the barrel spacer for a brushed aluminum look. It comes black anodized.

Thanks for the kind words guys. This is my first 1400. What a neat little rifle. And shoots pretty hard for a pretty easy to pump gun. I like how light and short it is to carry in the woods.

Good luck with your nickle 397P refinish Tennx, sounds like it will be a very nice project.

Beautiful job. Most of those rifles seem to have very nice wood. How did you mount the front sight? Which Williams peep? 5D?

Thanks again for the nice comments. I got the barrel spacer and safety from Rick at "Precision Pellet" really nice guy. Both are anodized aluminum--way better than origonal. The peep is the Williams 5D-SH, the same one used on the Dan's but I installed it on the left side of this gun to avoid interference with the bolt. (You have to simply reverse the windage slider).The FO front ramp sight is the Williams fire sight ramp .410 high and .625 barrel diameter, it bolts right on using the stock screw. Easy peasy!

Very nice, I sold one about 6mo that had gorgeous grain in the wood. Those guns are nice to shoot off hand.

Thanks Chacho, yeah some do have very nice grain once you sand off the brown mud/stain. And they are sweet shooters. So short and light. Nice easy carry. I'm lovin it.

Thanks again guys for all the kind words. I think the 1400 is so well built, that it deserves to be adorned with some custom features.
I'm working on a second one now. It's a third generation slim stock version. I'll post some pics of it in a few days when it's complete.

Thanks Bill. Both of my 1400's shoot really accurate with the JSB exact jumbo RS 13.4gr, and the Crosman accupell 14.3 pellets
I'm in the middle of my restoration of the second 1400. Will post some pics and details soon.

Thanks buddy.... I too have a 1400, previous owner was very unhappy with accuracy so your input is great help... Did you ever tried Crosman premiers ?

I have not tried CR premiers in my 1400's, but I have read that others have had good luck with them.
Premiers are a good pellet, and work great in many of my other guns. I just never bothered to try them in these guns, because I had such good luck with the others.

I did recrown one of my 1400's which wouldnt group with several different pellets. That seems to have solved that issue, but I'll be doing more testing once that restoration is complete.
