Do you guys thinks a beeman p17 could kill a red squirrel with a headshot at 10-15 yards? If I do get something I don't want to spend a whole lot of money.
Quote from: shadow on February 15, 2016, 06:36:26 PMHunting with airgun pistols can be a challenge and we all like challenges. A accurate pistol with enough fps and pellet selection can hold it's own within it's kill zone and shot placement. Took the whacked out Bandit with my MAG 800 pistol and other harvest with pistola's from my collection. EdEd that is simply amazing. Is your 800 a .177 or .22 cal?

My LP8 .177 puts out 550/560 fps with H&N Terminator 7.25 gr. so that's 4.96fpe @ muz. 4.44 @ 10yds and 4.19 @15 yds. Probably enough for a good head shot on a squirrel I'm guessing. And it's very accurate.
That Super-tact is heavy. Five and a half pound pistol?
Quote from: 39M on February 17, 2016, 07:17:04 AMThat Super-tact is heavy. Five and a half pound pistol?Yep, that is for the pistol & stock . Pistol alone , is just under 4 lbs. Most all powerful spring/piston pistols I have seen are quite heavy. .177 in this one is a true 800fps. Some other brand names will claim 600 fps & you only get 450 - 500. I don't know, but there may be some that are as powerful, that are lighter. If this was a very light pistol, I would think the " TWANG " would destroy it before long ! LOL
The hatsans are heavy and a bear to cock as well. 58lbs of cocking effort. I have the Model .25 spring piston in .22 and with the scope it weighs close to 5lbs.

So I'd have to carry a two pound extension pipe to slip over the barrel for leverage, bringing the weight up to seven and a half pounds. And then I like a scope on a rifle/carbine, so a little over eight pounds. That's not sounding like such a fun camping toy to me.
