Can the Optisan Mamba Lite be fitted with a sidewheel?

Can the side focus knob be fitted with a custom side wheel?
I've been shooting with my 3-12x44 Optisan Viper and yesterday when setting up my side wheel after reducing the HW95 power a bit more to "CPLs @ 840fps". I set up at 30 yards and zero'd the scope then moved up to 10 yards, shot a couple groups and marked my sidewheel. Next I went to my "near zero distance" at 20 yards and shot a group finding that it was about higher than than my far zero. Humm..."musta screwed up" so back to the 30 yard mark and indeed the poi was about 1/2" high so I re-zero'd and went back to 10 yards shooting a couple more groups. Going back to 20 yards again I shot a group and it too was higher than normal so back to 30 yards and indeed I was again shooting high. It was windy on Thursday so thinking that perhaps the wind was playing with my poi I decided to do some shooting upstairs at 18 yards. First thing I noticed that the "zero bull" was getting hit all around but I thought I was just shooting poorly. I proceeded to shoot another 100 bull target and this was the result.......

Notice the very ragged 10 shot group in the upper left corner using the Viper scope. Thinking that perhaps I was simply shooting poorly from "bucket and sticks" I preceded to shoot the bulls and the hits were orbiting all around the aim point which I thought was simply due to a poor shooting session. Shoting bull #22 & #23 I noticed that both hits were lower than usual and in exactly the same quadrant which does seem a bit strange so I mounted my 3-12x50 Aeon scope and used bull #55 to zero the scope. I then shot the 10 shot group above bull #35 using the Aeon.
Anywhoo....with my eyes the Viper snaps in and out of focus so much better than the Aeon so I sent an email for a RMA number to have the scope checked out. The reason for the question is that the smaller/lighter Mamba Lite scope looks interesting with the 1" tube but the side focus knob looks so short that I'm wondering how to fit a sidewheel to it, or even if it's possible.

There is a post in if I remember correctly in the Trenier gate about using a leapers/utg sidewheel. Seems like it was a simple mod of taking out the rubber shim and sanding down the nubs.
