Would you all buy a refurbished hatsan?

im looking to get a couple more hatsans would you all buy a refurb and if so who would you buy from? just checked midway and there 95 vortex went up to 199.00 was gonna buy another 25 cal and even pick up a .177 to round out the collection

I just did buy one! Here's why I feel good about getting a refurbished anything that's imported:

Especially with low end, imported products ordered via the internet, the first hands to touch them in this country are the purchasers. So if there's a problem it gets sent back to the store and they have a tech address the issue. Now when I do this repairing guitars I don't just tackle the one reported issue, I'm going to check the guitar out and make sure it's all good before it goes back up for sale. There's a difference between an inspection and a set up for guitars and there's a difference between an inspection and tuning for air rifles. So, because I saved so much on the gun by getting it as a refurb, I paid the store to tune it. That made my total cost a bit more than a brand new, UN TUNED, gun. Scratches or dents in the wood, etc. don't affect the way it shoots and it's gonna get scratches anyway. I got mine from Airgun Pro Shop

I will routinely order and sell 'B' stock guitars because I can get them for less and pass them along to my customers for less. A finish flaw doesn't affect the way a guitar sounds or plays at all. Sometimes I can't even find the flaw.

Just ordered my Hatsan 95 Vortex .22 on Monday and tracking says it'll be here by Friday! And they did the Hatsan Factory Bulletproof tuning to it. I'm not sure of the nature of the association but Rick Eutsler is associated with them somehow.

Field Supply has them at $174.99 but they're also tossing in a free $10 tin of Hatsan Vortex pellets and $10 in free targets.

I just received a refurbished Model 95, in .22 cal, shipped from Airgunproshop.com for $109.  I have no reservations about ordering a refurbished Hatsan and will do so again in the future.

I also bought a refurb 95/.177 from Field Supply when they were $79 plus $4 shipping. Not a scratch or fingerprint anywhere on it, and it shoots fine.

I was in the photo/optical business both wholesale and retail for many years. It was not unusual for a Mfg to mark new units as refurbs when they want to clear out old stock. Hatsan is coming out with a Model 95QE and it wouldn't surprise me if they "made" some refurbs to clear the warehouse. Also, when an item is returned to the factory the techs usually give it a thorough inspection, repair (if needed) and adjustment. Often it is "better than new" when they send it back out as a refurb.

I had a 125 vortex sniper from field supply. I loved it for all of 2 days, whereafter I returned it hoping it went in a trash bin.

Bent up barrel past where my scope could compensate, even with a reversed droop mount, and after about 100 shots trying to sight it, fpe dropped from 28 to 14. It really soured me on the idea of refurbs. I turned the money into an HW95, and never regretted a moment of that.

I still want a 125 sniper vortex in .22, but not for $300+.

I've bought a lot of refurbs. 155, Striker 1000 vortex, Win. 1100, Air Hawk Elite, Air Hawk, Black Hawk Elite. I don't buy a new gun without checking the refurbs first. If it's a bad gun send it back.

But you got enough 95's. You need a .177 135. A gun with something extra. Pushes 10.43 grs JSB's average of 1050fps. "Smoke Wagon". Shoots good. I liked it so much I got something else close, a Mach 12.5.

 After I bought the 155 I wished I hadn't got the !00X. Same gun just smaller. Now that I got a 135 I don't need a 95. Later, Tim.

My 135 came with the barrel bent about 6" from the end and it was new. Last time I pay for a pre-ship test. I could have sent it back but I bent it back straight. Shoots good. With my barrel bending jig I put small blocks about 4" either side of the bend and the c-clamp right on the bend. Worked perfect.

I picked up a 95 in .177 from Field Supply for $82 shipped to my door, and it's a perfect specimen.  The walnut stock is without blemish, and the barrel is perfect!  Plenty of power and shoots well

The only reason I'd recommend against you purchasing one, would be to ensure there's another one for me to purchase when I'm ready.

+1 on the HW95. Sorry you had bad luck on the refurb Hat 125 (I had to return 2). Guess it's luck of the draw, I've had good luck with most Hatsan refurbs. On the few that were lemons, they were replaced or credited.

Like Geoffrey_k said price difference is a factor. An example is like last night I thought about ordering a 34 Pro Compact from PA but a 350 P.C. is only $40 more and I used a 10% discount code off the back of the catalogue. Shipping was less than the discount. But sometime you buy a gun new or refurb and the next day it goes down, or the next day they're out of them or the caliber you want.

Just received my latest refurb, a Hatsan 135/.177 springer. Very nice! Not a mark or scratch on it and it has nicely grained walnut. Right out of the box it's shooting Xman 10.5 heavies at 1090 fps without any dieseling (must have been fired at least 20-30 times before it was shipped). All & all quite pleased for $144 to my door. The downside is that Field Supply packed the 8 tins of pellets in the box with the rifle and 7 or the 8 are noticeably dented/damaged.

Needless to say, customer service has been contacted for replacement pellets.
